Team Liquid Signs Stretch to Fortnite Team

Although many may not be aware, Stretch is rapidly becoming a household name in competitive Fortnite. Epic Games launched Season X in August of 2019 and this coincided with the beginning of the Fortnite Champion Series. Epic Games implemented a change in the competitive format, which saw trios replace duos. This meant professional players needed to seek out complementary pieces in order to build an ideal team. Solo World Cup Champion, Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, made the ultimate decision to team with fellow rising stars, ClarityG and Stretch. As each FNCS week progressed, viewers began to realize just how talented Stretch was as a relatively unknown player at the time. The trio of Stretch, Bugha and ClarityG made waves during the FNCS competition, which included a top 8 finish in all five qualifying weeks. Needless to say, Stretch began to elevate himself into the upper-echelon of competitive Fortnite.

On October 4th, 2019, Team Liquid took to Twitter to announce the signing of Stretch to their storied organization. The indication through all of the Fortnite Champion Series was that Stretch would not be a free agent for much longer. Competing alongside Bugha and Clarity helped give him the exposure he needed for organizations to take notice. Stretch joins the likes of Tom “72hrs” Mulligan, Noah “Vivid” Wright, Ryan “Chap” Chaplo and many more on the stacked roster that is Team Liquid. With the next season of the Fortnite Champion Series approaching, this signing could not have come at a better time.
