FaZe Clan has found themselves a professional Fortnite coach.
For those unaware, Hugh “DestinysJesus” Gilmour is one of the premier professional Fortnite coaches in the world. With an extensive background as a coach in the popular Battle Royale title, he's taking his coaching expertise to the next level. Gilmour announced via Twitter earlier today he's officially signed with popular esports organization, FaZe Clan.

Many appreciate Gilmour as a prominent figure throughout the competitive Fortnite community. As a former professional player in his own right, the popular Fortnite coach helped train many Fortnite World Cup competitors toward success. One of Gilmour’s most significant clients was Kyle “SEN Bugha” Giersdorf. Giersdorf took first place, and won $3M USD in solos at the Fortnite World Cup. Other clients of Gilmour include third place Fortnite World Cup duo finishers, Davis “100T Ceice” McClellan, and Hayden “100T Elevate” Krueger. Gilmour explains some of his robust coaching techniques on his website.
“My main source of improvement whilst competing was streaming all events like Finals and then VOD reviewing everything afterwards extensively, a skill which has transferred over to coaching clients.”
Recent Coach Successes
It’s unclear exactly how Gilmour’s coaching of FaZe will work. Just last season, he coached the likes of Anthony “TSM ZexRow” Colandro, Mack “TSM MackWood” Aesoph and Jonathan “Calculator” Weber. The three went on to win the NA East Season X Fortnite Champion Series. He's also worked with Noah “Liquid Vivid” Wright, Ryan “Liquid Chap” Chaplo and Chris “Tempo Cizlucky” Perez, second place winners at the same Season X Finals.
Potential Impact on FaZe Clan
Considering Gilmour’s extensive resumè, it’s safe to say FaZe Clan is in good hands. Their Fortnite roster includes some of the most significant talents across the entire community. With players like Kyle “Mongraal” Jackson, Danny “Dubs” Walsh and Noam “Megga” Ackenine under contract, FaZe features an extensive lineup. With the Fortnite Champion Series is in full swing and DreamHack Winter coming later this month, the FaZe organization could not have timed this signing better .
He will be able to analyze gameplay and help polish the strategies of fellow FaZe members. Gilmour may work alongside FaZe players to improve their gameplay. We will ultimately have to wait and see how Gilmour’s coaching expertise will playout for the ultra-popular esports franchise.
