Find out how to unlock the Ghostbusters back bling in Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 8.
Fortnite Battle Royale’s latest update — patch v18.21 — acted as the opening ceremony for Fortnitemares 2021. The yearly Halloween celebration is a fan favorite, where Epic Games changes the game for a few weeks and unvaults exclusive items during that period. Some new inclusions in this year’s Fortnitemares update include classic Witch Brooms, Consumable Candy, an all-new location named The Convergence and more collaborations.
Of the slew of leaked announced crossovers, none piqued interest more than the Ghostbusters questline. In partnership with the upcoming feature film Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Epic Games spawned a Containment Specialist non-player character (NPC) on the Island. Today, ESTNN will walk you through the entire Ghostbusters questline, where you can earn an exclusive “No Ghost” holographic back bling as your reward.

Where to Find Containment Specialist
The map above shows where the Containment Specialist NPC spawns. It makes sense, considering the Ghostbusters’ signature Ecto-1 vehicle has been under a tarp in the Camp Cod garage for multiple seasons. You’ll find the Ghostbusters character in or around the marked building on the map. You must talk to him and accept the questline to begin. Follow the steps below to complete all challenges.
Quest 1: Deploy 3 Seismographs in Misty Meadows or Catty Corner
The first quest of five tasks you with deploying Seismographs in Misty Meadows or Catty Corner. For this challenge, it’s much easier to land Catty Corner than Misty Meadows since it’s less populated and a smaller area. Once landing, you have to scan for Seismographs. Then, hold the correct action key on the blue Seismograph silhouettes to deploy the machine and move on to the next quest.
Quest 2: Exterminate three mini-Pufts with a Pickaxe in Sludgy Swamp, Lazy Lake or Retail Row
Quest number two is probably the second easiest to complete. The ideal method is to land at Retail Row and find the house located on the southeast corner. Upon walking in, you’ll find several miniature Stay Puft Marshmallow Man figures. Break three of those with your pickaxe, then you’re moving to quest number three.
Quest 3: Destroy Cars and Collect Five Mechanical Parts
The third quest is also relatively straightforward. It does not require you to land anywhere specific, so choose any location that contains cars and other vehicles. Find five cars after you land and destroy them with a weapon or pickaxe. You should see mechanical parts drop from the exploded vehicle. Pick up five using your action button and consider this quest complete.
Quest 4: Plant Ghostbusters Signs in Holly Hedges, Pleasant Park or Dirty Docks
This one gave us some trouble, so you may want to take our advice—land in Pleasant Park to do this one. Dirty Docks proved challenging to find all three of the signs. Pleasant Park is a better choice due to its wide-open landscape. In any case, three signs spawn in the three locations above. Deploy three of those and you’re on to the final quest.
Quest 5: Plant a Ghost Trap
Quest five tasks you with planting a Ghost Trap. Like quests four and one, this one requires you to land at one of the primary POIs. We landed at Pleasant Park and found the Ghost Trap task in the middle. Next, hold your action button and that concludes the Ghostbusters questline. In quests four and five, your best approach is to land at Plesant Park, Holly Hedges or Dirty Docks. You can easily plant the signs and then the Ghost Trap in one match.
Completing the fifth quest nets you the Ghostbusters “No Ghost” holographic back bling. That wraps up this guide. The quests weren’t particularly challenging, but many players will be attempting the same. Be cautious, and you should have the challenges done in no time.
