Fortnite Season 8 hotfix v18.30 introduces a brand new mobility item into the Battle Royale mode.

Fortnite’s newest Exotic item has arrived in the form of an Icy Grappler. This variation on the original Grappler introduced in Chapter 1 offers a unique property never seen before with this item. The Icy Grappler functions as the standard version while giving the user ice blocks on their feet for quicker and more efficient, albeit challenging, movement.

The Icy Grappler is now available in-game, and ESTNN is here to show you where to find it and how much gold it will cost you.

Where to Find the Icy Grappler Gun

The Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 map is shown with a red circle around a location in the south where the exotic Icy Grappler Gun can be found.

You can find and purchase the Icy Grappler at the Apres Ski landmark located south of Misty Meadows. It’s the dance club where the Fabio Sparklemane NPC roams, offering quests and this new Exotic item as of the latest update. The Exotic Icy Grappler is available to purchase from the non-player character (NPC) for 400 gold bars.

Here is Epic’s description of the Icy Grappler via the hotfix v18.30 blog post:

“Some people like to stick the landing. Others like to stay moving after landing. If you’re the latter type, the Icy Grappler is up your alley! Just like the regular Grappler, shoot its suction cup to fling yourself to a solid surface, but here’s the chilly twist: as you begin flying in the air, the Icy Grappler’s frostiness will freeze your feet, causing you to stay moving when you get to your destination.”

Here is some gameplay footage thanks to Twitter user @_antre_:

Be sure to queue into a non-Arena Battle Royale match and see if this new item suits your play style. It’s best used in elevated areas where you can utilize the slope for rapid movement!
