Learn everything you need to know about Fortnite's latest hotfix in Season 8.
Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 8 is winding down, and only a few weeks remain until the highly anticipated transition into Chapter 3. As a result, players likely won't see another significant update until next season. The last patch introduced the controversial B.R.U.T.E. vehicle back into the game, and today's hotfix presents the final war effort funding campaign.
Today, ESTNN explains how and where you can find stations to vote for either the Proximity Grenade Launcher or Flint-Knock Pistol to return.
War Effort — Proximity Launcher vs. Flint-Knock Pistol
Thus far, we've seen the Shockwave Launcher, Combat Assault Rifle and Combat Shotgun return to Fortnite as usable items, besting their respective War Effort opponents. From earlier in the season, leaks predicted the showdown that we see today; the Proximity Launcher vs. Flint-Knock Pistol.
Same as before, players can use gold to fund which weapon they'd rather see come back to Fortnite. Funding efforts will more than likely end entirely after a winner is determined. Each weapon represents a time in Chapter 1 when new weapons carried an exciting experience.
Those looking to vote can head over to any donation boards as shown below, courtesy of Fortnite.GG. Every primary point of interest (POI) contains a donation board, and you'll receive Mini Shield Potions in return.
Strike from the Shadows Week
It seems “Wild Weeks” have returned, but not as you may remember them. Epic has increased the spawn frequency of the Naruto Paper Bomb Kunai weapon and Shadow Stones. This gameplay change aligns with Wild Weeks from the past two Fortnite seasons, where developers highlight a particular element for an entire week.
Here is the explanation from Epic's blog post:
“In Strike from the Shadows Week, running from 9 AM ET on November 23 to 9 AM ET on November 30, Paper Bomb Kunai and Shadow Stones are all over the place! You can catch Shadow Floppers in greater numbers too… and even find them on land. Turn into a shadow with the Stones and Floppers, then strike with the Kunai. Also complete themed Quests in the Strike from the Shadows Punchcard!”
It's worth noting that the Strike from the Shadows Week does not apply to any competitive game modes.
That covers everything you need to know about possibly the final hotfix of Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 8. If that changes, we'll be sure to update you!
