Compete in Fortnite’s Galaxy Cup 2.0 on Android devices for a chance to win free in-game Galaxy-themed cosmetics.
The multi-year Samsung x Fortnite collaboration has returned in 2021. This partnership between the tech company and one of the most popular Battle Royale titles dates back many years and has produced several skin collaborations and tournaments in the past. The last Galaxy Cup occurred in July 2020, and Samsung is back again this year.
Today, Epic Games revealed the Galaxy Cup 2.0, where players on the Android platform can win the newest Galaxy-branded skin in Fortnite. Join ESTNN as we break down everything you need to know about this tournament before it begins on August 29. That will include the format, scoring system, prize distribution and more.
Format & Schedule
The Galaxy Cup 2.0 is a solo tournament. However, it will not follow the traditional Battle Royale format. Instead, participants will compete under the Arsenal LTM game mode. Here is a quick rundown of this limited-time mode per Epic Games for those who aren’t familiar:
“In Arsenal, all players start with the same powerful weapon, and eliminating a player grants a weapon of slightly lesser power. The first to make it through every weapon, from best to worst, earns the Victory Royale! For this Cup, a Victory Royale rewards you seven points and each elimination rewards you one point. You also get a point for playing in each match.”
One hundred players will queue into each match and earn points based on eliminations and placement.
Here is the tournament format and schedule:
- Tournament date August 29
- Open to only Android players
- Three-hour session
- 25-match limit
- Players earn points based on the scoring system defined below
How to Register
To participate in the Galaxy Cup 2.0, players must enable 2FA on their Epic Games account. Additionally, you must have an account at level 30 or above. There are no Arena Mode ranks required to compete in this tournament. It will be available in your in-game “Compete” tab during your region’s time window on August 29 for Android players only.
Scoring System
Since this tournament is not a typical Battle Royale format, the scoring system is a bit different. Each elimination yields one point, and players will earn seven points for a Victory Royale.
Here are the complete scoring criteria:
- Victory Royale: 7 Points
- 2nd-16th: 1 Point
- Each Elimination: 1 Point
