Fortnite: FNCS Chapter 2 Season 8 Finals Recap & Results

This weekend, seven trios across competitive Fortnite’s seven worldwide regions solidified themselves in the history books.

Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Chapter 2 – Season 8 has been a brief but exciting endeavor for competitive Fortnite fans. Season 8 began with two weekly qualifiers, which set up a marathon finish for some, as teams scrambled to earn a spot in the Season 8 Finals. More than 30 trios per region obtained the right to compete for a share of $3M USD and the coveted in-game Axe of Champions harvesting tool when all was said and done.

Intrigue and drama became critical factors for all regions with team changes aplenty and consistent drop spot conflicts. Those came to a head in the Season 8 Finals, which unfolded across two days and 12 total matches. Only seven could ultimately call themselves their region’s best trio.

Today, ESTNN recaps all the action from this past weekend’s festivities. Join us as we look at all the winners and critical players in the Season 8 Finals.

Europe

Kami, Setty & teeq Obliterate the Field

Dominance in Fortnite happens in waves. We’ve seen dominant play here and there throughout the last four years, but few could compare to what the Polish trio of Kami, Setty and teeq accomplished in the Season 8 Finals. With 32 talented teams in the mix, this trio stuck to their game plan and executed it perfectly. The three players closed out day one with a commanding 64-point lead over second place.

Day two provided more of the same—Kami, Setty and teeq racked up an eight, second, second, and seventh in four of the last six matches. That 64-point lead swiftly increased to an 80-point lead and finally nearly 100 points. As the final Victory Royale screen rolled, Kami, Setty and teeq stood as dominant champions in Fortnite’s most challenging region. The three Polish players earned every cent of their $300K USD winnings and the Axe of Champions.

FlowiS, Hellfire & Skram Rally on Day Two to Finish Second

The team of FlowiS, Hellfire and Skram looked outstanding on day one and were undoubtedly overshadowed by Kami and company. After ending day one in fourth, this trio continued the momentum into day two despite the obstacles in front of them. FlowiS, Hellfire and Skram picked up their only Victory Royale in match number 10, ending the competition with 328 points.

Although they finished a whopping 92 points behind first, it was all positives for FlowiS, Hellfire and Skram. They completed the Season 8 Finals with 52 eliminations and an impressive average placement of 8. Each player will collect $70K USD and deservedly so, considering their consistency in a field riddled with talented teams.

Aqua, crr & Fastroki Earn Two Victory Royales, Finish Third

Fortnite World Cup Duo Champion aqua sailed into the Season 8 Finals as one of the favorites. It took a Reboot Round victory, but he, crr and Fastroki would ultimately reach the competition’s final leg with an uncontested Boney Burbs drop spot. Aqua and company did what they do best in the Finals, securing height often and collecting two Victory Royales.

Season 8 marked a return to form for aqua, who has experienced insurmountable ups and downs in the past few FNCS competitions. His teammates crr and Fastroki also gained a lot from their experience, including $45K USD and a seal of approval in the European region.

NA East

World Cup Champ Bugha Wins First FNCS Title with Muz & Mero

The legacy of Fortnite World Cup Champion Bugha added another outstanding achievement after two intense days of competition. Alongside relatively new trio teammates Muz and Mero, these three encountered adversity but fought hard until the very end. The three players sat it second after day one. It would take a masterful performance over the final six matches to claim the FNCS Season 8 title.

Bugha, Muz and Mero opened the final day with three straight top-five finishes and 31 eliminations. While the three faltered over their remaining three matches, it didn’t matter. Some clutch elimination and placement points coming home got the job done. Bugha, Mero and Muz earned 341 points overall, including 65 eliminations and an average placement of 8.58. The victory was executed superbly, and all three players rightfully earned the $135K USD grand prize and the Axe of Champions.

Deyy, Jamper & Tragix Make a Run, Fall Slightly Short

Arguably Season 8’s best trio delivered on all expectations in the Finals. Many predicted this accomplished trio as the Season 8 Champions, and that almost came to fruition. The three players switched their drop spot coming in from Dirty Docks to Steamy Stacks and it worked out in their favor. Much like Bugha’s team, Deyy, Jamper and Tragix put themselves into an advantageous position on day one, finishing fifth with 158 points and a Victory Royale.

They made it interesting on day two of the Finals. A Victory Royale in the penultimate game put them in position to knock off Bugha, Muz and Mero. The two teams scratched and clawed, but Deyy and company fell short, despite finishing third in the last game. It was a season full of success for the two-time FNCS Champ, Jamper and Tragix, who won multiple tournaments in Season 8.

OSP, Visxals and Fryst sat in the driver’s seat heading into day two but only by the narrowest margin. They accumulated 185 points on day one, but the FNCS title required a flawless follow-up to put away. OSP, Visxals and Fryst began the day with a fourth-place finish and three eliminations. However, a few sub-par games put them behind.

At the end of day two, the day one leaders had 317 points total. That included two Victory Royales and 57 eliminations. OSP’s team put together two solid days of Fortnite but fell short of the two NA East titans. Their third-place finish secured them $23K USD each.

NA West

Reet, Snacky & Favs Survie Late Surge by the Four-Time Champs

The NA West region somehow provided the most intrigue of any other region. After a day filled with action, leaders Reet, Snacky and Favs had the tall order of closing out their first FNCS victory. Four-time champions EpikWhale, Arkham and rehx sat a whopping 82 points behind Reet’s trio with six more games remaining. Eyeing their fifth consecutive FNCS Championship, Arkham and company had a lot of ground to make up.

Reet, Snacky and Favs had to keep their foot on the gas to end their reign. Both teams put forth some of the most outstanding efforts in FNCS. Reet’s teams managed a Victory Royale and two second-place finishes. On the flip side, Akhram, EpikWhale and rehx won three of their last six games to nearly overcome an 82-point deficit.

It all came down to the closing moments, where Reet and Favs stayed alive as a duo and compiled enough elimination and placement points to hold on and win. It was an admirable effort from both teams, and the result could not have been any closer. Reet, Snacky and Favs earned 416 points—good enough for first, $48K USD and the Axe of Champions.
