Fortnite Celebrates LGBTQIA+ With Rainbow Royale, Offering Free Cosmetics

Learn everything you need to know about the inaugural Rainbow Royale event in Fortnite.

Fortnite’s first-ever Rainbow Royale is now available in-game for players. This promotional event supports the LGBTQIA+ community with numerous free cosmetics in the game’s Item Shop. It’s the first instance of Epic Games celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community and the diversity within their game's community. After patch v17.20 came out this morning, the developers updated Fortnite’s Item Shop earlier than usual to unveil the free cosmetics as part of the Rainbow Royale celebration.

What is Rainbow Royale?

Epic Games released a blog post today regarding the Rainbow Royale update. They provided comments on the event.

“Everyone is welcome on the Battle Bus, and this week we’re celebrating the amazing Fortnite LGBTQIA+ community! Check out everything happening in the game and beyond this week with the debut of Rainbow Royale.”

A host of rainbow colored cosmetics from the Fortnite Rainbow Royale event appear on a purple and blue sky background.

Players can support diversity and the LGBTQIA+ movement in-game by purchasing free cosmetics from the Item Shop. Here is what’s available:

  • Sunshine & Rainbows Wrap
  • Take a’bow Emote
