Fortnite: Bugha Signs With VaynerGaming Agency

World Champion Bugha signs with a brand new esports agency.

17-year-old Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf made history yet again, signing with VaynerGaming, an offshoot of the VaynerSports agency. The first-ever Fortnite World Cup Champion found representation under famed entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk’s wing. VaynerGaming is Vaynerchuk’s newest addition to an already established sporting agency.

Los Angeles and New York-based VaynerSports notably represents professional athletes like Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson. Vaynerchuk has decided not to limit himself or his agency to traditional sports.

The amount of value in esports nowadays is growing considerably. Viewership numbers continue to skyrocket as do the number of eyes on competitive gaming. VaynerGaming begins its venture into esports on a high note, having acquired the $3 million Fortnite World Cup winner.

What is VaynerGaming?

First reported by One37PM, Gary Vaynerchuk explained his interest in esports, which led him down this path.

“I have been quietly paying attention to the gaming industry for over a decade, building relationships and following the trends”.  Vaynerchuk said.  “One of the most exciting things about it, for me, is the gamers themselves. And when I look at the culture, the interest in the sector from other athletes, artists, celebrities it is enormous”. He added. “This is a very significant expansion for VaynerSports”.

More pieces will inevitably fall into place for VaynerGaming, especially after signing one of Fortnite’s biggest stars and reportedly renegotiating his existing deal with the Sentinels esports organization. Bugha has been steadily gaining popularity since winning the Fortnite World Cup and subsequently earning the Esports Player of the Year award in 2019.

Laying the foundation

There are plenty of players both inside and outside Fortnite that would make prime candidates for VaynerGaming’s representation. The ultra-popular Battle Royale title often spawns questionable organizations with disingenuous motives. As esports continues to grow in the public eye, talented and marketable players like Bugha will need something to rely on for contract negotiations and brand partnerships.

The World Cup Champion has also reportedly negotiated deals with Samsung, Mondelez and Five Below alongside VaynerGaming. This signing marks the beginning of what should be a monetarily friendly relationship between Bugha and his new representation. It will be interesting to see what follows for the newly established VaynerGaming.
