Fnatic vs GAM Recap Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage Day 2

With only a handful of rosters left to fight on Day 2, the remaining cross-regional match-ups Fnatic vs GAM Recap met on the Worlds stage to claim their first win

After a harrowing match against Korea's best, GAM faced a legendary LEC org that has seen better days. With both teams having 2 lives left, only one contender had a chance to keep their dreams alive and avoid the bo3 elimination match.

Before the matches even started, both camps could cut the tension with a knife. Numerous factors and past performances acted as the best indicators of GAM's success, but since the LEC has produced more winners by comparison, more people expected a fast Oscarinin and co. win, but the draft picks meant that both teams had to stay on their toes.

Both rosters started off with stock standard comps made of frontline champs and botlane carries. The only difference between the two rosters was seen in the midlane, where Humanoid opted for control mage vs Kati's poke with Jayce. However, Slayder's risky hybrid build on Kaysa presented a possible win condition for the boys in black.

Unexpected plays around the bot jungle had GAM in an aggressive killstreak in the earlygame. However, their relentless charge didn't last long when Humanoid and Noah found ways to equalize the playing field. By the 15-minute mark, both squads had a drake under their belt to help contest the first Rift, but the fights that came after inevitably fell in FNC's favor.

After numerous skirmishes going FNC's way, they were able to carry a 5k gold lead all the way to the late game. With such an advantage, their opponents could only keep the gap from getting too big. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot they could do to stop Noah's Xayah when he went 6/1 just after 21 minutes. After a few minutes, the match eventually ended and Fnatic emerged as the winner over GAM and claimed their first win at Worlds 2023.
