Dragonflight Patch 10.1 Embers of Neltharion Release Date
Coming to NA servers on May 2nd and European servers on May 3rd. The raids will open the following week.
New raid: Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible
Situated inside the new zone, Zaralek Cavern, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible will task players with entering Neltharion's secret laboratory. The location is where Neltharion gave into the Old Gods, so we'd speculate those 5th Old God rumors might be confirmed or denied within this tier.
The raid will feature nine bosses, an increase of one over Vault of the Incarnates. The raid will see players continue the fight against the remaining Incarnates that were released at the end of the Vault raid. For now, we don't know the end boss of the raid, but that's sure to change soon as data gets added to the PTR.
Like with Vault, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic will release the same day, once again making the Race to World First a fascinating watch.
New zone: Zaralek Cavern
Dragonflightpatch 10.1 will introduce the Zaralek Cavern, a completely underground zone that lies beneath the Dragon Isles. This new zone can be accessed through entry points located within the pre-existing zones of the continent. Zaralek Cavern will mark WoW's first entirely underground zone since Deepholm, which was included in the game with the Cataclysm expansion in 2010.
Unlike the Dragon Isles, the environment of Zaralek Cavern features a new style of biome to what we're used to in Dragonflight, with more crystal and volcanic themes that interact with the underground spaces. Players will have access to their Dragonriding mounts from the start of their journey in Zaralek Cavern, making it a less daunting experience. Players will be able to unlock a new Renown track with the Niffen. As players fight their way through the harsh environments of the cavern, they can expect to become friends with the native race.
New open-world content
Patch 10.1 of Dragonflight will expand the game's story, providing players with additional quests in the existing zones of the Dragon Isles and the newly introduced Zaralek Cavern.
The quests will be centered on the Blue Dragonflight and the Titan Keeper Tyr. Moreover, players can anticipate assaults from Fyrakk, one of the Primal Incarnates, occurring periodically on the world map, similar to Legion assaults and Primal Storms. These assaults will offer players an opportunity to obtain rewards and gear.
Dragonflight 10.1 Mythic+ rotation:
-
Brackenhide Hollow
-
Halls of Infusion
-
Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr
-
Neltharus
-
Freehold, Battle for Azeroth
-
The Underrot, Battle for Azeroth
-
Vortex Pinnacle, Cataclysm
-
Neltharion’s Lair, Legion
The Season 2 affixes are now confirmed, and we're getting 3 new affixes and no seasonal affix this time around.
New Dragonriding mount
A new Dragonriding mount will also be joining us in 10.1. The Winding Slitherdrake is the new Dragonriding mount that will be added. The mount is already in the game, with full customisation and variants, so we knew it was coming sooner or later.
Dragonflight 10.1 Raid Release Schedule Week of May 9:
- Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties become available
Cross-Faction Guilds
A long-requested feature, Cross-Faction Guilds, will finally come to the game in 10.1. We've seen the early groundwork in Dragonflight with cross-faction dungeon and raid groups. But this will be the real test for the feature.
10.1 Class changes
Blizzard has begun posting changes for 10.1. You can check them out on the official forums, though these are highly likely to change from week-to-week.
