Empyrion Galactic Survival Dark Faction Expansion is here, and it's bringing lots of new content to Empyrion Galactic Survival.
Nearly nine years after the release of the base game, Empyrion Galactic Survival, the game is getting its first DLC/Expansion; Dark Faction. The game was released fully four years ago after a period in Early Access, Dark Faction brings the first major addition to the game in the form of a story-based expansion.

The new expansion can be played solo or co-op, and will see the player(s) embark on a journey to discover the origins of a new galactic power, that threatens the Galaxy. This titular Dark Faction is spreading at a rapid rate across the system, and it's down to you to put a stop to it. You'll explore new planets that are being overrun by the Dark Faction, liberating them to slow the expansion of the corruption.
The expansion will bring a host of new items, such as a ballistic projectile weapon class of bows and grenade launchers. You'll also need to fight off this new enemy with other new technology like the Disruptor Turrent, to cripple the enemy ships, leveling the playing field.
Developer Eleon Game Studios will be assisted going forward on the project by Funcom, who will allowing for an increase in marketing and funding for future projects in the series.

Eric Lucas, founder of Eleon Game Studios had this to say on future content:

It’s dark, tense, and can challenge even a veteran player. Moreover, with the release of this expansion, we remain committed to continuing adding free updates to the base game.”
As a celebration of the new content, the base game is being put on a deep 60% discount; while the Complete Edition (which includes the Dark Faction) will be an additional 10% off. Dark Faction is available via Steam now for $9.99/€9.99/£8.49.
