Dragon Ball X Fortnite – Everything You Need To Know

The father of Shounen anime meets Epic Games; the Dragon Ball x Fortnite crossover is here!

Epic Games is reaching its final form, pulling off a collaboration with one of the greatest anime/manga of all time in Dragon Ball. Unlike Goku, Epic Games didn't pull its punches on this collaboration and have delivered a lot of goodness.

Get Your Zeni Ready

Collaboration content isn't forever, but collaboration cosmetics are.

We all knew that Goku and Vegeta skins would be coming. The real question is which characters would be joining them. Gohan? Trunks? Piccolo? Frieza?

Goku, Vegeta, Beerus, and Bulma have joined the fight.

Surprisingly enough, none of the above. Instead, Lord Beerus and Bulma have joined Goku and Vegeta in the Battle Royale and Epic and Rare skins, respectively.

The four Dragon ball skins are available individually or in bundles.

Goku and Vegeta each have unique build-in charge-up emotes that allow them to take on different forms throughout the series. Both Saiyans have access to their Base, Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan Blue forms. Goku's fourth form is Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta's is Blue Evolved.

Lord Beerus is only one skin, but the Bulma skin has a casual outfit and lab coat variants.

Epic Games provided a healthy variety of Dragon Ball gear.

Along with those four skins come a bunch of other cosmetics as well. We've got two new gliders in the Flying Nimbus and Saiyan Pod. There are also two new Harvesting tools, those being Master Roshi's staff and Goku's Power Pole. Several Back Bling has also arrived, The Seer Fish, Master Roshi's Turtle Shell, and Goku's Power Pole (Which functions as both a Harvesting Tool and Back Bling), which has a slightly different design.

For those looking to get the most bang for their buck, Epic Games has released three Dragon Ball bundles: A Goku & Beerus bundle, a Vegeta & Bulma bundle, and a Dragon Ball Gear bundle.

The bundles have the best value in the shop by far.

The Goku & Beerus bundle comes with both skins, the Power Pole Harvesting Tool and Back Bling, The Seer Fish, and a loading screen. The Vegeta & Bulma bundle only comes with Vegeta and Bulma. The Dragon Ball Gear bundle includes Master Roshi's Staff and Turtle Shell, The Flying Nimbus, Saiyan Pod, and a Fusion Dance emote.

Two New In-Game Items

Players queuing into matches will notice two new additions in honor of this collaboration: the Nimbus Cloud and the Kamehameha Wave.

The Kamehameha is risky but powerful.

The Nimbus Cloud is a deployable glider that you can use to make a quick escape. The Kamehameha Wave is a powerful Mythic weapon that makes Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet Beam look like a water gun.

If you spot Capsule Corp Capsules on the map, they're probably worth getting.

You can obtain both items from Dragon Ball Vending Machines, purchase them from Bulma, or claim them via Capsule Corporation capsule drops across the map.

The Tournament of Power

The Tournament of Power is arguably the most disappointing part of the collaboration.

Epic Games hosted a one-day-only Tournament of Power on August 18.

Players competed in the event to get the highest scores on the leaderboards. Those in the top spots obtained collaboration prizes like sprays and emoticons. In all honesty, the rewards were underwhelming at best, so if you missed the tournament, you didn't miss out on much.

Power Unleashed

Completing Power Unleashed will net you some awesome free goodies.

Have you ever dreamed of riding on the back of Shenron? Well, now you can turn that dream into reality. In Fortnite, anyway.

Separate from the Battle Pass, the Dragon Ball Power Unleashed Challenge is a way for all players to get their hands on some free Dragon Ball cosmetics. Including two Ki charging emotes, a Dragon Radar Back Bling, and an Epic Shenron Glider.

Complete Power Unleashed Quests to get your free rewards.

Players must complete Power Unleashed quests to increase their Power Level to obtain all the rewards. These tasks are thematically appropriate objectives fitting Dragon Ball characters, like feats of Strength or Endurance.

Don't miss out on the chance to get a Shenron Glider.

Unlocking the Shenron Glider requires obtaining the seven Dragon Balls. Players can do so by completing at least three quests from every category.

Adventure Island

Adventure Island has lots of things to do.

Adventure Island drops you into iconic locations throughout Dragon Ball history, like Kame's Palace, the Room of Spirit and Time, Goku's House, and Beerus' Planet.

Each location on Adventure Island has things to do, some of which are requirements for the Power Unleashed quest. There are a bunch of Capsule Corp capsules scattered about that will give you a decent chunk of Battle Pass experience if you get them all. Heading to Goku's house will have you cooking several kinds of fish to sate is never-ending appetite. Kame's Palace has a Nimbus Cloud race for players to get acclimated to the favorite ride for those pure of heart, and the Room of Spirit and Time has an obstacle course.

Head to Beerus' Planet to master the Kamehameha.

Fly to Beerus' Planet to get used to how the Kamehameha works in Fortnite. Once you've got that down, you can try out the PVP Arena and duke it out with other players. Just prepare your ears for the never-ending chorus of Goku screaming Kamehameha. If you want to sit back and take it easy, you can travel to the Dragon Ball Super Episode Festival island and watch a couple of episodes of Dragon Ball Super.

Like with the Power Unleashed Challenge, there are seven Dragon Balls to obtain on Adventure Island. Players who successfully get them all can pay Shenron a visit and get a special treat.

Adventure Island will be sticking around even after the main Dragon Ball festivities are gone, so don't feel rushed to get this stuff done. Just remember there's a respectable amount of Battle Pass experience here to farm if you need a little pick-me-up.

There are nine days left before the Dragon Ball collaboration ends. And while many players suspect this won't be the last we see of Dragon Ball in Fortnite (Since Naruto had two waves of release), there's no telling how long it'll be before it comes back. Get as much done as you can.
