Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi has been a popular series for Dragon Ball fans. They were the most beloved games based on the Dragon Ball series. Fans of the series have eagerly been waiting for a new entry to the franchise since 2005. Everyone had given up hope till the latest entry into the series was announced to come out this year.
Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero is the newest addition to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, which is coming this year. The Budokai series is well known for having an extensive roster of characters. Budokai Tenkaichi 3, in particular, had 98 characters and 161 forms. With the announcement of Sparking! Zero, people have been wondering how many characters the game will feature.
Dragon Ball: Sparkling! Zero Characters Wishlist
In the nineteen years since the Budokai series ended, the Dragon Ball franchise has expanded by a lot. New movies, games, and an entirely new series have been introduced since. This article is going to look into all the characters we want to see make an appearance in the game.
10. Moro

Moro, the Consumer of Worlds, is one of the most fearsome villains added to the Dragon Ball Super manga. Moro has a unique design that has never been seen in Dragon Ball. He also has a set of powers that the Dragon Ball series has never seen before his introduction. He has also never made an appearance in a game before. It would be interesting to see how Bandai Namco would recreate him in a game.
9. Whis

The Angel and Advisor of Gods has been a part of Dragon Ball Super since the movie Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods. Even though he has been a part of the Dragon Ball mythos for such a while, we have not seen him in a game yet. Whis is a character with a set of abilities that we have seen multiple in the show. Seeing how the developers will implement such broken skills in a game to keep every character on an equal playing field will be interesting.
8. Jaco

The Budokai Series is renowned for gag characters. One such character is Jaco, a galactic patrolman who has been featured in various Dragon Ball media, such as movies and the Dragon Ball Super series. Despite his popularity, Jaco has only appeared in the Xenoverse games, leaving fans wondering why he hasn't been included in other Dragon Ball titles. Jaco's unique character design and situational moveset make him an ideal candidate for a gag character in future games.
7. Cabba

Unlike the other popular Saiyans from Universe 6, Cabba has never been included in a game. Cabba was introduced in the third season of Dragon Ball Super. He was added before Kale and Caulifla and their fusion, Kefla. Cabba is a Saiyan that we want to see show off his prowess as a warrior alongside his mentor Vegeta, who will surely make an appearance. Cabba has a lot of potential, being the first-ever Super Saiyan from Universe 6.
6. Merus
Whis’ brother Merus was also introduced in the Moro arc. He is a cool, calm, and collected character that we saw kick into action during the arc. He has a strong sense of Justice and is an angel in training. He made himself known during his time in the story and even made fans tear up when he faded out of existence. Sparkling! Zero would be a fantastic place to bring the character and allow him to show off his time as a galactic patrolman and an angel in training.
5. Android 21
Android 21 is one of the most well-known Dragon Ball characters to come out of a video game. She made her way into the hearts of fans when she was first introduced in Dragon Ball FighterZ. 21 was also made a cannon character in the recent Dragon Ball Super: Superhero movie. We love to see her return in a video game as a playable character once again. Her unique android abilities, mixed with the Majin Cells, would make her a perfect candidate for the game.
4. Granola

Granola was the strongest character in the Dragon Ball series at one point. He was a character fueled by revenge and took down the likes of Goku and Vegeta. He is equipped with a unique gadget that helps him be one of the best assassins in the Dragon Ball universe. We’d love to see his weapon’s arsenal make an appearance in the game and see how well he fights with the gods in the series.
3. Black Frieza
Black Frieza is the evil Warlord’s newest and most powerful form. He took down both Goku and Vegeta in their strongest forms with one blow. This alone makes us excited to see him return as the supreme leader of the cosmos. He was the character that caused the end of the Granola arc, and we have not seen him since. It would be extremely exciting to see how the game developers would implement a character we know so little about.
2. Beast Gohan

Gohan has largely been absent from the Dragon Ball series since the start of Dragon Ball Super. That, however, ended when the movie Dragon Ball Super: Superhero made Gohan the movie's primary focus. Gohan awed the audience with his new form, which was once again brought forward by his rage. Gohan showed off his strength and used the Special Beam Cannon instead of the Kamehameha to show how far he had come from his father’s shell.
We look forward to seeing Goha’s new moveset in the coming game.
1. Ultra Ego Vegeta
Credit: CBR
Ultra Ego is a form Vegeta unlocks after rigorously training with the God of Destruction, Beerus. The form finally brought the Prince of all Saiyans a brand new powerup to put him on par with his best friend and rival, Goku. He boasts a fresh look that is entirely unique and super menacing. Vegeta has yet to show off this form in an animated project, and we think this game would be the perfect place for him to show off his strongest form. At the same time, Ultra Ego’s unique trait makes the user stronger the more damage they take. We are excited to see how Dragon Ball: Sparkling! Zero represents this in its game mechanics.
Honorable Mentions:
Since fitting in all the characters we want in a top ten is difficult, we included honorable mentions to make room for other characters we’d like to see.
- Cell Max
- Super Saiyan Rage Trunks
- Zamasu
- Goten and Trunks
- Gamm 1 and Gamma 2
- Mira and Towa
Conclusion
Dragon Ball Sparkling! Zero is a game that every Dragon Ball fan eagerly awaits. The game will surely add at least a hundred characters, and these characters were some of the ones that we are most excited to see make an appearance. We also made sure to leave out characters that will most definitely be a part of the games.
