Dplus KIA vs GAM Esports Preview and Predictions – Worlds 2023

Dplus KIA vs GAM Esports will be a match that could spell doom for the last VCS team standing at Worlds.

The first half of the Swiss Stage of the 2023 World Championship has ended, with Team BDS and Team Liquid saying goodbye to the competition on Monday. With Gen.G and JD Gaming already qualified for the Knockout Stage, there’s only 12 teams left in the running – for just 6 spots in the last part of Worlds.

Dplus KIA and GAM Esports narrowly escaped elimination after the won against BDS and TL respectively, but now, they have to face each other – and the loser must head home.

Dplus KIA

Dplus KIA surprised everyone this year – both in a positive and negative sense. After Deft ha joined two other former world champions, ShowMaker and Canyon, the community had high expectations for the team. They couldn’t live up for it at first, but after they managed to qualify for the 2023 World Championship, they put their fans to ease.

However, they didn’t have a stellar showing at Worlds so far. First, G2 Esports defeated them in a close bout, putting them at 0-1, then they got demolished by KT Rolster, getting pushed to the brink of elimination. They redeemed themselves when they defeated Team BDS 2-0 on Monday, proving that they are worthy of representing the LCK – and why you should ban Rumble and Caitlyn against them.

GAM Esports

GAM Esports already outdid themselves at Worlds. The 1st seed of the VCS made it out of the Play-Ins, where they went flawless after losing their first match versus LOUD. They defeated Movistar R7, LOUD (in the rematch) 2-0, then played against the Vietnamese region’s 2nd seed, Team Whales, who weren’t able to best them – just like in the VCS Finals.

At the Main Event, GAM Esports got some hard beatings as Gen.G beat them in 22:35, which was the fastest match until Monday (when T1 beat C9 in 22:25). Then Fnatic also demolished them in under 25 minutes, knocking them down to 0-2. But Team Liquid couldn’t really deal with the early aggression of the VCS squad, and even though they won one bout, they lost 1-2. This gives GAM a new opportunity, but they have to play against one of the toughest opponents yet.

Dplus KIA vs GAM Esports Predictions

Aggression is the name of the game for the representatives of the VCS, but Dplus KIA has shown that they can defend themselves adeptly when they played against Team BDS. GAM Esports also managed to throw a match they had the early lead in, while Deft and co. secures it and runs away with the game. Levi and his teammates has an uphill battle ahead of them – can they deliver, or is this as far as they’ll go?
