What Problems Are Xbox Users Facing While Playing Baldur’s Gate 3?

An escalating amount of dismayed fans are speaking out about a troubling save state bug impacting Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. This issue extends beyond disrupting one gaming session, as it's wiping out extended hours of progress altogether, leaving players deeply dissatisfied. In some cases, the game save data gets fully corrupted, forcing players to restart their Baldur’s Gate 3 journey from the beginning.

Larian, the developer behind Baldur's Gate 3, has advised Xbox players to perform manual updates on their consoles. This action aims to address instances where game crashes cause the disappearance of saved files.

Xbox players, we’ve pushed a small update to Baldur’s Gate 3 containing stability fixes.

We're aware of the issue of saves disappearing after a crash. An update is available from Xbox to help with some of these issues, please manually update your Xbox through the system menu.

Larian announced today through a post on X, previously known as Twitter that the studio has rolled out a minor update for Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox to stabilize the game on the platform.

“We're aware of saves disappearing after a crash,” the studio wrote. “An update is available from Xbox to help with some of these issues. Please manually update your Xbox through the system menu.”

The reason behind these game crashes and their impact on save files remains unknown at this point. Xbox users, however, can expect the Xbox Baldur’s Gate 3 save bug to be fixed following the release of the system update.
