Atlas Fallen is the new action RPG developed by Deck13 Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. The game was revealed for the first time during Gamescom 2022 and since then the development team has slowly revealed various information about it. Although the developers are the same as The Surge and Lords of the Fallen, the design director himself said that it is not a soulslike, but rather a game that takes more inspiration from God of War and Horizon. However, despite being closer to these two games, the developers have still inserted into the game some mechanics that characterized The Surge, as well as the addition of sand-powered abilities, which will play a fundamental role in Atlas Fallen.
Although the official launch of the game is very close, there are still several things that have not been explored, especially with regard to the game plot. This is certainly a deliberate choice by the team in order not to give too many details to the players before being able to get their hands on the game. For this reason, we have decided to create this article in which we enclose all the information in our possession, in order to be able to give you a more complete picture of what Atlas Fallen is.
Atlas Fallen release date
One of the first things to know and certainly one of the most searched for is the Atlas Fallen release date. For the uninitiated, the Deck13 Interactive and Focus Entertainment game will be available on the global market starting August 10, 2023. The game should have already been released originally this spring, on May 16 to be exact, but the team of development then announced its postponement in order to have more time to devote to the title to finalize the last things before its launch on the market.
Atlas Fallen platforms
Atlas Fallen will be available to all players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, owners of the old consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, who have not yet made the transition to their respective next-gen consoles, will not be able to enjoy the game. The developers, in fact, have not taken into consideration the development of old-gen versions for their new action RPG, so as not to be forced to compromise to make the game run better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.
Atlas Fallen story
Large god-like beings roam a devastated Earth where Atlas Fallen is located. Magic and primitive technology coexist in a post-apocalyptic world, which is another characteristic. As a result of Thelos, the despotic sun god, Atlas is a society under his oppressive rule. You will go out on your adventure as one of the last notable heroes of Atlas in an effort to confront that deity. Depending on the choices you make and the allies you enlist, you can try to regain lands and destroy tyranny in different ways.
As the plot progresses, you will develop new abilities that will allow you to enter new areas and interact with locals in both the capital city and the communities strewn over the desert. Whether it's a brief encounter or a recurrent role, you'll run with peasants, soldiers, knights, priests, and a whole host of other characters who are all striving to in some way affect our hero's mission.
Atlas Fallen gameplay
The old glove that each player comes with lets them work with sand is the basic item for the game. Although they can only carry two at once, players can employ three distinct weapons by molding the sand around them while wearing the gauntlet. You will then be able to easily transition from land to air combat during the journey, as well as avoid, block, and counterattack incoming assaults. The capacity to use a unique skill that does severe damage to opponents is known as Momentum, and it is acquired by players as they engage foes.
Atlas Fallen open world
The game offers a number of open areas for players to explore, encounter numerous non-playable individuals, and perform a variety of side quests or other tasks. Thus, movement is a crucial component of the game's exploration and transversality. The player will discover “Shards” and “Catalyst Pieces” as he progresses through the game, and these will improve the gauntlet's combat powers even more. It is best to be as prepared as you can for the battle because the horrific creatures you will encounter are many and extremely dangerous.
Atlas Fallen character creation
Players in Atlas Fallen have complete character creation and customization options. You will be given a wide range of customization options while designing your character since, as they have indicated, you can completely personalize your character for this game. Players who customize their characters can start with a randomly generated set of features or select from a broad visual time. Seven menu options, including General, Hair, Skintone, Face Shape, Eye Shape, Facial Features, and Outfit Color, are available for character creation and modification in Atlas Fallen.
Atlas Fallen multiplayer
Although 2-player co-op has been included, Deck13 claims that Atlas Fallen was always intended to be played solely by one person. However, individuals who prefer to play the entire game with a friend will still have the option to do so. In addition, the game's difficulty will be adjusted differently when playing co-op, and both characters will appear in all cutscenes and NPC conversations.
A pop-up message stating that cooperative gaming is now enabled and that you can invite a friend to join your game using the coop tab in the menu appears at the beginning of your first Main Quest when Atlas Fallen coop is activated. These are a few of the key characteristics of coops:
- When loot items are made available, they are automatically shared with other players; they do not have to be taken when they are made available.
- Coop players are allowed to freely explore the map away from one another and are not restricted to staying in the same location.
- Throughout the session, the coop host keeps up with all world progress. A visitor who has made more progress than the host does so only in terms of their character; their world state remains unchanged. The availability of character or world progression would be limited depending on how advanced the host is.
