Astralis vs Team Vitality Preview: 2023 LEC Spring Groups

The first set of winning teams struggle for supremacy and a shot at the Spring Split Playoffs.

With the Groups stage in full swing, things are heating up in the LEC. After they settled the tie in their bet-of-3 (bo3) series against the fallen Fnatic, Astralis has already made strides toward their much-coveted top 4 spots. But before they get there, they'll have to get past Team Vitality, who have remained impressively consistent this season. If you plan to bet on the LEC games this season, this Astralis vs. Team Vitality preview is for you.

Astralis vs Team Vitality Preview

Astralis

Having two players used to dominating matches with carry picks made it very likely that Finn and co. would advance far into the split. With LIDER joining the formidable ensemble, their chances of hoisting the Spring shield have never looked better.

Their recent match against Fnatic showcased the current level of their macroplay. The Danish team constantly baited out enemy cooldowns before going all in for the first win of the series. But despite their great start, they had difficulties containing Fnatic in their second match, succumbing to their overall better picks and Oscarinin's aggressive Olaf plays. Soon after, Astralis clinched the third and final win — owed to their Jungler 113 for stealing multiple objectives — and claimed 29 kills in 33 minutes.

Astralis Roster

  • Finn “Finn” Wiestål
  • Doğukan “113” Balcı
  • Adam “LIDER” Ilyasov
  • Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup
  • Lee “JeongHoon” Jeong-hoon

Player To Watch

Adam “LIDER” Ilyasov adds so much value in Astralis' teamfights that it's hard to keep your eyes on any other player in the LEC roster.

Team Vitality

In blazing hot form, the rising star in this year's LEC met fan expectations in their latest groups series.  On top of that, their latest 2-0 victory was against the MAD Lions, who placed 2nd in the Winter split.

Perkz, who has been Vitality's win condition for most of the team fights, was the focus of a lot of early lane pressure in their battle vs MAD. But with Bo's aggressive plays in the jungle, Vitality's leader was always well-protected. In the end, Bo's zoning with Maokai and Upset's ADC prowess made it so that even getting Soul point couldn't stop Team Vitality's commanding victory.

Team Vitality Roster

  • Kyeong “Photon” Gyu-tae
  • Zhou “Bo” Yangbo
  • Luka “Perkz” Perković
  • Elias “Upset” Lipp
  • Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser

Player To Watch

Emerging deathless from their first bo3 series, it's evident that we have to root for Vitality's midlaner, Perkz.

Astralis vs Team Vitality Predictions

These teams are head-to-head when it comes to their results in this split. But what Vitality has shown in their confident plays this split makes us root for the French bees! With well-established organization, better jungle control and a high-powered star player, Vitality will wrestle Astralis' best for a 2-1 win.
