WoW Plunderstorm Skills Deep Dive

Fire Whirl

Update: Well, we knew this was getting nerfed and it has. No longer the top dog, but still a great little AOE damage ability.

Fire Whirl is clearly an early standout as the most powerful skill in Plunderstorm. Movement, AOE, huge damage. It ticks a lot of boxes.

Rime Arrow

Probably underrated by players early, Rime Arrow is an incredible tool in a 1v1 fight. Not only can you use it to poke an opponent down, but if they try to heal it's a great way to stop the healing channel.

Steel Trap

Probably the easiest of the utility/cc spells to land, Steel Trap surrounds you in traps that lock down enemies in place. It can also be paired with an escape tool to give you some much-needed distance on someone tracking you down.

Fade to Shadow

One of the best early movement skills in Plunderstorm. Fade to Shadow jumps you forward in the direction you are facing and puts you into stealth. Ideal for getting out of a tight spot.

Storm Archon

Harder to nail than most abilities, but if you manage it, you'll be rewarded. This three-part skill will see you chain together lighting, earth, and fire attacks to land a deadly combo.

Holy Shield

A strong projectile for close battles. Like in WoW, you throw the shield forward, knocking back enemies in the cast range. You can then recast it to explode for more damage.
