How the first three days went

Round 1 on October 23 went entirely to the LCK. All four Korean teams won, while all four LPL sides lost. Round 2 on October 24 split the Korean teams: Dplus KIA beat T1 and Gen.G beat Hanwha Life Esports, both in single games. Top Esports, Invictus Gaming and Bilibili Gaming picked up the LPL’s first wins of the event, and G2 Esports got off the mark against LOS.

Sunday’s Round 3 decided the first two quarterfinal spots. Dplus KIA swept Movistar KOI 2-0, and Smash scored the first pentakill of Worlds 2026 on Kai’Sa in Game 1, according to Strafe. Gen.G dropped the opening game to LYON before winning the next two. In the best-of-one games, Invictus Gaming beat Hanwha Life Esports and Top Esports beat G2, leaving both the LCK second seed and the LEC champions at 1-2.

T1 vs CTBC Flying Oyster

T1 arrived as three-time defending champions and won their opener against LOS before losing the all-LCK game to Dplus KIA. A second loss would put them at 1-2, the same spot Hanwha Life Esports fell into on Sunday. CTBC Flying Oyster beat Team Liquid Alienware on the opening day, then lost to Movistar KOI. A win would put the LCP side one result away from the knockout stage.

Karmine Corp vs Bilibili Gaming

Karmine Corp came through the Play-In in Los Angeles and beat Anyone’s Legend in Round 1, one of the biggest upsets of the opening day. LYON then beat them in Round 2. Bilibili Gaming lost their opener to Movistar KOI and bounced back against Team Liquid Alienware. The winner joins the 2-1 group alongside the two LPL teams and the two LEC sides already there.

The elimination series

The day’s biggest elimination story is Anyone’s Legend. The LPL first seed lost to Karmine Corp and Top Esports and now plays a best-of-three against Team Liquid Alienware to stay in the event. In the other series, LOS and Team Secret Whales each lost both of their single games. Every elimination match is best-of-three, so both teams get at least two games under Fearless Draft.

What comes next

The Swiss Stage pauses after Monday and resumes on October 28 with Round 4. The 2-1 teams, including Movistar KOI, LYON, Invictus Gaming and Top Esports, play for qualification, while the 1-2 teams, including Hanwha Life Esports and G2 Esports, play to survive. The quarterfinals begin on November 3, and the final is on November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
