League of Legends developers Riot Games strives to make every championship more memorable than the last. That said, there's a lot to keep track of, including match schedules, winning players, and stage formats. So we did the job for you.
The League of Legends World Championship or ‘Worlds' is the biggest esports event of the year. Featuring famous pro players, iconic locales, major artists and millions in the prizepool, the big-ticket derby has quickly become a flagship for esports around the globe.
Worlds 2024 has finally kicked off. Here's everything you need to know about the tournament to come.
What Is the Worlds 2024 Format?
Worlds 2024 starts in Play-Ins Stage, where eight teams battle in a best-of-3 (BO3) double-elimination bracket. Teams that win a Qualification Match advance to the Main Event.
There they'll join 12 teams in the Swiss Stage where rosters fight for three BO1 wins before moving on to BO3 elimination matches. Surviving teams advance to the BO5 Knockout Stage, putting them within striking distance of the coveted Worlds 2024 title.

US$2,225,000 is the total prize pool for Worlds 2024, with the lion's share going to this year's Grand Final winner. Here's how much is rewarded for the top teams!
