Warlock pet customization is coming to Dragonflight 10.1.5, as the often-forgotten caster finally catches a break and gets something nice and unique.
Obviously, we're joking. Warlock players have been eating good for a while, but with Demonology becoming one of the most popular specs, why not give those pets some love. Dragonflight 10.1.5 will introduce such a change, as Warlocks can finally take control of the look of their pets. The patch will also see Warlock be made available to an entirely new group of races: Night Elves, Draenei, Lightforged Draenei, Pandaren, Kul Tiran, Tauren, Highmountain Tauren, Mag’har Orcs, and Zandalari Trolls.
Warlock Pet Customization
Starting off with the Imp, Warlock players will be offered a new quest line at level 30. “Beginning Impositions” will send you to the Mage Quarter in Stormwind or Shadwoed Cleft in Orgrimmar. The quest will task you with helping to recruit new Warlocks. Upon completion, you'll be able to customize your Imp in the barbershop.
Fel Hunter will also get some customization love in 10.1.5
Will I lose my Warlock pets name?
It was discussed in the Warlock community the fear that they might lose their pet's name. According to a Blizzard community post, however, this shouldn't be the case. If you use a glyph.
“Once the patch is live in your region, we’re disabling several glyphs that previously were the only means of customizing your demon appearances. When you log in for the first time, your demon may no longer be summoned, and you will have to summon them again. Your summoned demon appearances will be reset to the default versions and will have a different name that matches the name associated with the default pet appearance.”
They continued later in the post:
“When finished at the Barber Shop, any previously glyphed or default demon appearances that you’re applying will either use the demon’s previously saved names, or if it is your first time using this appearance, a random new demon name.”
So, you're probably ok, but, let's be honest, something horrific is likely to happen anyway.
