VALORANT Hush: Release Date, Abilities and How the New Duelist Plays

Hush, VALORANT’s new Duelist, arrives in the game on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Riot revealed her in the RISE AND FALL trailer on October 18. She is from Guangdong, China, and her kit is built around utility she can keep steering after she throws it. The official VALORANT Wiki lists her release with patch 13.09 and counts her as the game’s 31st agent.

Hush abilities

The ability names and descriptions below come from Riot’s reveal material as compiled by Juked. Costs, cooldowns and ultimate points had not been published yet.

Key Ability What it does
Passive Telekinesis Picks up weapons and the Spike, and uses switches, from a longer range
E (signature) Displacement Thrown or prepared with alt-fire, then reactivated to send it toward the crosshair. It explodes on a surface or after a delay, pulls players to its center and concusses anyone who hits a surface or another player. Resets every two kills
Q Flashbulb A flash she can redirect after throwing it. It explodes on a surface or after a delay and blinds anyone looking at it
C Flow Drops an anchor, then propels Hush toward it after a short delay. Cast in the air, it briefly holds her in place first
X (ultimate) Suspension A projectile steered with the crosshair. Reactivating or firing again detonates it and levitates every player caught inside

How Hush is meant to play

Displacement and Flashbulb can both be redirected after they leave her hand, and her ultimate is steered with the crosshair. Nicholas Smith, game designer for agents and weapons at Riot, described the idea in remarks quoted by Philstar: “We kept coming back to the idea that Hush shouldn’t just throw utility, she should be able to manipulate it.”

That changes how a Duelist takes space. Flashbulb can be thrown wide and bent around a corner, so defenders cannot read the flash from where it was first thrown. Displacement works as an entry tool and a trap. Pulled players are dragged into one spot, and anyone who slams into a wall or a teammate is concussed. Because it resets every two kills, a strong opening duel gives her the tool back for the retake or the next fight.

Flow is her escape and entry tool. The delay between dropping the anchor and moving means it suits a planned swing better than a panic reaction. Suspension, the ultimate, lifts everyone inside it. Riot had not confirmed whether levitating players can shoot, which will decide how strong it is on retakes.

Who Hush compares to

Hush joins Jett, Phoenix, Reyna, Raze, Yoru, Neon, Iso and Waylay in the Duelist role. Her flash is closest to Phoenix’s curveball in spirit, but the redirect gives her more options. Displacement has no direct match in the current roster. It groups enemies and stuns them in one cast, which should pair well with area damage from Raze, Brimstone or KAY/O.

What to expect at launch

New agents tend to be locked in a lot in their first weeks, and Hush is the first one released with Agent Mastery tracks in the client. Balance numbers will matter more than the kit list, and Riot usually adjusts a new agent within her first few patches. She is not expected in pro play straight away. VCT 2027 starts in the new year, and partner teams are only now rebuilding their rosters.

Patch dates, event schedules and the rest of the fall’s VALORANT calendar are on our esports calendar. The Game Changers Championship in São Paulo runs until November 1, with every result on our Game Changers 2026 tracker.
