Here you can learn all about the Starfield Release Date, its Early Access Phase, and everything you could possibly want to know about Bethesda's upcoming RPG Behemoth.
Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of the decade. Releasing in a year that just keeps piling on great titles and excellent RPGs, Bethesda promises its first new IP in over 20 years will still be in a league on its own.
The game is also positioned as the make-or-break killer app for Xbox and its Game Pass service. After some great and some so-so releases, there is a lot of pressure on Starfield to deliver the kind of magic only Bethesda can deliver on.
So here's a quick rundown of everything you need to know about Starfield leading up to its release.

What is Starfield?
Starfield promises to be a massive RPG delivered by Bethesda who are the masterminds behind Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim, and their latest single-player output Fallout 4.
They are selling the game as the kind of big RPG only Bethesda can make, go everywhere you want, explore and have meaningful experiences on the way there. But instead of exploring post-nuclear fallout America or the vast lands of Tamriel, you'll be exploring the final frontier. Space.
Starfield is often described as “NASA-Punk” which describes this very barebone, scientific aesthetic you'd find in modern spacecraft or the ISS.
The game is set in the Milkyway in the year 2310 and asks the question “What it would be like if mankind started to settle space?”. Tonally the game seems to be more Star Trek than Star Wars, there is a large focus on living out existence in the final frontier than rootin' tootin' and shootin' like you did in The Outer Worlds.
According to Bethesda, there are over 1000 planets for you to explore while you create your own story. Starfield wants to be this mix of expansive RPG and Space Sim in a way we haven't seen before, at least not on that scale.
You can build or buy your own spaceship, recruit a crew, or make enemies for life. We will probably play our first run in memory of the greatest space cowboy who ever lived, Spike Spiegel.

If you purchased Starfield on either the Mircosoft Store or have a Game Pass subscription, you'll be able to preload the game from August 18. onwards. If you've purchased the game via Steam, you'll be able to start preloading Starfield on August 30.
Starfield Install Size
Starfield is going to be hefty in size and even demand players to install it on an SSD to work properly. The Xbox Series X|S version will be around 125 Gigabytes while the PC version will come in at a hefty 150 Gigabytes.
Starfield System Requirements
Starfield definitely has some hefty requirements, especially if you run an older system. While the game is supposedly running on the weaker Xbox Series S, its PC requirements are nothing to scoff at. The Requirements are as follows:
Minimum Requirements:
- OS: Windows 10 version 21H1 (10.0.19043)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 125 GB available space
Additional Notes: SSD Required
Recommended:
- OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5-10600K
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 125 GB available space
Additional Notes: SSD Required
It is also recommended to update all your Graphics drivers and Windows in order to run the game as smoothly as possible. But do keep in mind that Bethesda games are notoriously bug-ridden and janky at launch, so expect the occasional dip in frames at least.
The game is their first title to run on their updated Creation Engine 2, the current version of the engine that had been the background of all their titles since Skyrim.
And that sums up everything we could find out about Starfield ahead of its launch on September 1/6. Keep an eye out for our Features Section for Guides, Tips, and Tricks.
