Rise of the Ronin release date and platforms
Rise of the Ronin will be available starting March 22, 2024 for all PlayStation 5 owners. Unfortunately, at least for the moment, players who own other gaming platforms will not be able to enjoy this experience. However, it is not excluded that Team Ninja will decide to release the game on other platforms in the near future. At the moment, however, there is no further information on this matter, as no statements have been released. As soon as we know more, we will update you.
Rise of the Ronin story
The game, as we said at the beginning of this article, is set in 19th-century Japan, to be precise, in 1863. It is a particular period in Japanese history, as it has just spent three centuries of oppression at the hands of the shogunate Tokugawa and another looming threat was about to hit its shores: the black ships of the West.
Players will therefore play the role of an unspecified hero who will have the task of saving Japan from this period of great misfortune. In fact, between war, contagions, and political problems, Japan is in complete chaos, and there is a need to have someone who can change the fate of the country. Will the protagonist be able to lift up an entire nation? Obviously, during your journey, you will meet many characters with whom you can team up to make your mission easier.
Rise of the Ronin gameplay
We said that Rise of the Ronin is an open-world action role-playing game, so, at least for this reason, it seems to wink at another production set in Japan, namely Ghost of Tsushima. Obviously, however, since these are two different products developed by two different teams, we are not faced with a sort of “sequel.” In any case, the first thing we learned regarding the gameplay, which refers to the game plot, is that you will have the possibility to choose how to conduct the missions. That is, you can decide to kill or spare someone, for example, with an elaborate system of multiple choices that will allow you to shape your story.
The most important thing to underline (and which many are probably wondering given that this is a product created by Team Ninja) is that there will be the possibility to choose between different difficulty levels that can be selected before starting your adventure. This choice was implemented to ensure that as many people as possible can have access to the product, both those who want to enjoy the story and those who want a focus more on combat skills.
In this regard, the developers confirm that, despite the possibility of choosing the game difficulty, this did not negatively affect the combat system. In fact, it will always be very engaging, as Team Ninja has accustomed us to over the years, but it will be more accessible thanks to the modularity of being able to choose the difficulty with which to face the adventure. So, if you are looking for a game that stimulates you from a combat system point of view, don't worry: the developers have thought of everything and everyone.
Rise of the Ronin multiplayer
Team Ninja's latest works have accustomed us to being able to face the difficulties that arise in front of us during our adventure in the company of other players, however, in this case, this will not be the case. Rise of the Ronin does not feature a multiplayer mode, so you will not be able to share this experience with other players. Rise of the Ronin was designed to be a solo journey in what is a Japan in turmoil, also as a symbol to try to create something that can lead to the discovery of the inner self. In any case, it cannot be completely ruled out that this functionality will not be added at a later time.
