Riot Announce Wild Rift Origin Series; First Official Tournament For EU, MENA & CIS

The Wild Rift Origin Series will bring together the best from the EU, MENA and CIS to compete for a share €300,000.
Riot Games has always pushed forward the esports scene of their games, and Wild Rift is no different. They recently announced the first annual intercontinental Wild Rift tournament for Europe, MENA and a few other regions; the Wild Rift Origin Series.
If you're an avid Wild Rift player, and you think your team has what it takes, then it’s time to show your skills to the world! Registrations for the Origin Series have now started. Check out the complete details regarding the tournament below.

Wild Rift Origin Series Registration and Eligibility
In order to participate in the Origin Series, teams should meet the eligibility criteria as follows:
- Teams must have at least three members living in Afghanistan, Aland Islands, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia And Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Guernsey, Holy See (Vatican City State), Hungary, Iceland, Iraq, Ireland, Isle Of Man, Italy, Jersey, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestinian Territory (Occupied), Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Yemen.
- All players must be aged 17 or over to compete.
How to register for Origin Series
You can register for it by following the steps mentioned below. However, you need to hurry. Registration for the first qualifier, happening in June, closes on June 1, 2021.
- Go to the official Origin Series website.
- Then click on ‘Join Now’ and log in or sign up with an ESL Account.
- Fill up the required details and submit your form.
What is the prize pool for the Wild Rift Origin Series?
The Wild Rift Origin Series is the first-ever official tournament hosted by Riot for Europe, CIS, Turkey, the Middle East, and North Africa. Winners will become the first-ever Wild Rift Origin Series champs. And they’ll be taking away a piece of the €300,000 prize pool.
“We're excited to launch the first League of Legends: Wild Rift intercontinental esports circuit for Europe, MENA, CIS, and Turkey, building on the momentum and hype displayed by our dedicated players and fans.” Said Hans Christian Duerr, Wild Rift's Head of Esports for Europe and MENA. “League of Legends: Wild Rift Origin Series is set to bring mobile esports to the next level and shine a light on new talents yet to be discovered.” Duerr continued. Also adding they're expecting to see “fiery competition” from players across the regions.
Origin Series schedule, tournament format, and prize distribution
The Origin Series is a set of monthly, best-of-three double elimination competitions. Running across June, July, and August, and leading to an offline final in September 2021.
Open Monthly Qualifiers
The Open Monthly Qualifiers of League of Legends: Wild Rift Origin Series will happen across the coming months, with two phases taking place in June.
- First Phase: 5-6 June
- Second Phase: 12-13 June
Qualifier Playoffs (Monthly FInals)
Once our teams are qualified, then it's time for the Playoffs. This is where the top 16 teams from each group will fight against each other to win points, and teams with the highest number of points will head off to the offline Finals. Qualifier Playoffs will be live broadcasted and will be held between 21-24 June.
Origin Series Finals
Finally, the Origin Series Finals will be an offline event. Our top teams from the Qualifier Playoffs will fight it out for the champions trophy. As well as a split of a €300,000 prize pot.
