Remnant 2 is a soulslike shooter that can put you in big trouble if you are not prepared for this type of challenge. Unlike classic soulslikes where the difficulty is pre-set and you can't choose it, in Remnant 2 it's not like that. The Remnant 2 difficulty settings are four and are specially designed for all types of players so that they can enjoy the best experience taking into account their skills. In this article, therefore, we have decided to give you a general overview of the selectable difficulties in Remnant 2, as well as explained directly by one of the members of the development team in a recent tweet on his official profile.
Remnant 2 difficulty settings
There are four difficulty levels that can be selected in Remnant 2, each with its own characteristics. In order to better face a game that is already quite complicated in itself, choosing the difficulty that best suits you is a very important operation to do. For this reason, below we provide you with all the information we have regarding this aspect of the game.
Remnant 2 survivor difficulty
Remnant 2's survivor difficulty is the one that best suits the needs of all players. Nonetheless, don't think this is a walk in the park, as it has been designed and balanced to be challenging but fair at the same time. The enemies will still be able to put you in difficulty, especially the bosses and if you are in sections of the game where you will find yourself surrounded by multiple enemies, but with a pinch of strategy and ingenuity you will be able to survive and advance throughout the story. This mode is perfect for all those who are not regular soulslike players or for those who prefer to focus on the story as well, rather than just the gameplay and its difficulty.
Remnant 2 veteran difficulty
Veteran mode is a little more difficult than the previous one. This is a great starting point for anyone looking for a bigger challenge, but who doesn't yet feel ready to tackle the game on the higher difficulties. Enemies are more deadly and deal greater amounts of damage, but without being too difficult. If you are a player who has already played games like this and you have acquired a good familiarity in them, this difficulty could be the one for you.
Remnant 2 nightmare difficulty
Nightmare difficulty, as its name suggests, is hard. It is certainly not a difficulty to consider at the beginning, especially if you are not used to this type of game. Those who, on the other hand, have a good knowledge of soulslikes and are fearless enough to want to face a difficult challenge, this difficulty is certainly the one that can satisfy you most from this point of view. Keep in mind, however, that the enemies will be extremely dangerous and the bosses will be even more difficult to defeat. Choose this difficulty only if you are aware of your abilities.
Remnant 2 apocalypse difficulty
The apocalypse mode is the hardest of the ones in the game. As such, it will not be available from the start but will be unlocked once you have completed the game at least once on any difficulty level. This difficulty is extremely difficult to deal with and it is therefore for this reason that the developers have made it available only after getting familiar with the game and finding the right builds to use. The enemies and bosses are incredibly strong to deal with and no mistake is forgiven.
