Los Angeles Thieves Enter The Call of Duty League

After months of speculation, the LA Thieves have finally been confirmed as a new Call of Duty League team for the 2021 Season.

A few months ago we heard that Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez had reacquired OpTic Gaming from Immortals Gaming Club. While the purchase hasn't been officially announced, it seems like it has been completed and this would result in H3CZ owning two Call of Duty League spots. This would require Rodriguez to cut ties with one of the spots. Many fans speculated that Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, former professional player and owner of 100 Thieves would be a primary target.

Nadeshot said multiple times that 100 Thieves didn't have the cash to enter the league. Thus, they would not purchase the spot. However, 100 Thieves then sold their Counter-Strike Global Offensive team. This may have been the boost in capital needed to purchase the spot.

LA Thieves' Roster

From the announcement video, we can see that Austin “Slasher” Liddicoat, Kenny “Kuavo” Williams and Eric “Muddawg” Sanders are joining the LA Thieves for 2021. Then it was announced that former OpTic members Thomas “TJHaly” Haly and Zach “Drazah” Jordan will round out the roster.

The Call of Duty competitive community is more than happy to see Nadeshot and 100 Thieves return to the scene. The LA Thieves Twitter account has amassed over 15K followers within the first 15 minutes of the announcement and it is still rising.
