The North American team found themselves another European talent.
Team Liquid continues to prepare for the 2022 season, this time acquiring former Rogue ADC Steven “Hans Sama” Liv, a day after signing Gabriel “Bwipo” Rau for the top lane.
Hans Sama began his professional career back in 2016 with Misfits Gaming and made a splash in his first year. He and his team finished first in the 2016 EU CS, getting into the EU LCS in the 2017 Promotion series. They finished second in their first EU LCS playoffs and made top-eight in the 2017 World Championship. After three years, he transferred to Rogue, and after a weaker Spring Split in 2020, they had a strong Summer with a first place in the regular season and a third place in playoffs, but not making it too far in Worlds.
In 2021, he was regarded as the best ADC in Europe, having an outstanding KDA in the LEC. Rogue was the team that constantly tried to reach the crown but ultimately fell short, first to MAD Lions, then to Fnatic. But that doesn’t diminish Hans Sama's talent. In this year's World Championship, they managed to beat 2019 champions FunPlus Phoenix and one of the best North American teams, Cloud9, as well.
Hans Sama said that he’s grateful for the opportunity Rogue has given him, but now he has to take on new challenges, which he will definitely find in the LCS. He will be joining star players such as Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer and Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in, and also one of his former rivals, Bwipo in the top lane. While the mid laner remains a mystery for now, if TL manages to sign Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, which they are about to do according to some rumors, we will have a new superteam on our hands.
