In fact, once you have built your village, characters will begin to visit it and you will have the opportunity to talk to them.

The first time you talk to him, obviously, you can't immediately ask him to take part in your village but only to stay for the night. However, the second time you talk to him, you will have the option to invite that specific character to be part of your village.
