With the offseason in full swing and roster moves calming down, LEC fans learned the return date of the European League of Legends Championship today. They’ve only got just over a month to wait as the LEC Spring Split gets underway on January 24th.
Riot Games revealed the news alongside ticket details for the LEC in 2020. One important bit of info was that the LEC won’t make any schedule changes for 2020 with shows at 6pm CET Fridays and 5pm CET Saturdays each week, kicking off the weekend of Friday 24th January 2020.
Tickets for weeks one to four are available now via the LEC’s new ticket calendar. Riot will make more tickets available as the season progresses. The tickets cost €12.
You can watch the 2020 LEC in all the regular places on Lolesports, YouTube and on Twitch over on the Riot Games channel.
2020 LEC season Teams
The 2020 LEC will feature nine teams from 2019 G2 Esports, Fnatic, Schalke 04, Rogue, Vitality, SK Gaming, Origen, Misfits Gaming, Excel Esports and newcomer MAD Lions who took over the Splyce slot.
With the LEC now gearing up for 2020, we’d expect other global leagues to announce their 2020 start dates imminently. In the meantime, there isn’t too much competitive League of Legends action to speak of, however, UK-based LEC side Excel will be putting on an event on January 12th featuring a Misfits Gaming and a host of fun activities. So while it’s not quite the LEC, it should scratch that competitive itch.
