T1, formerly SK Telecom T1, has announced tonight that they are releasing Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong from their LCK roster. Se-hyeong is a beloved player in the Korean LoL scene and though his time at SKT was short, he will be missed.
Hello, this is T1.
We have ended our contract with Mata.
We highly appreciate what he has brought with us this year and wish him the best of luck for his new journey. Thank you. pic.twitter.com/nk4MsKWWAi— T1 LoL (@T1LoL) November 19, 2019
The Korean support has played on a number of professional teams since 2012. He made multiple World Championship appearances with teams like KT Rolster and Royal Never Give Up before joining SKT in 2019. Unfortunately, Se-hyeong didn't have the results he would've liked and was benched in favor of Lee “Effort” Sang-ho.
He did play a couple of games in the 2019 World Championship, but the results were similarly lackluster. Despite these performances, Se-hyeong is an incredible player with a proven track record of success. It's not clear where he will end up yet, but any team would be lucky to have him.
