League of Legends: Coach kkOma joins Vici Gaming, Kim joins SKT

ESPN is reporting that Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun will sign for China's Vici Gaming with Kim Jeong-soo heading to South Korea to become SK Telecom T1's coach.

This marks a major change for kkOma, who’s only ever coached SK Telecom T1, after he retired from professional play. His time at SKT saw the side win eight South Korean titles and three World Championships. The team remains the most successful League of legends organization to this day.

Following SKT ‘s poor showing at the most recent Worlds in Europe, kkOma opted to take to free agency. ESPN reported that while he received interest from multiple teams, it ultimately came down to T1 or leaving South Korea to join Vici Gaming.

kkOma now faces a challenge to turn Vici Gaming from a 4-26 team in 2019 to a Chinese playoff hopeful. With his experience in South Korea, he’ll likely breath new life into the side.

Joining SKT is Coach Kim who previously worked with South Korea’s Damwon Gaming in the 2019 LCK. Kim has reportedly been tracked by a number of teams for the past year since he won 2018 Worlds with Invictus Gaming.
