Developed by FARLIGHT and Lilith Games, it is a free to play game on two consoles including Android and PC. There are many types of resources in the game and each of them has various uses. One of the types of resources in the game are plants and herbs, which are affinity items. Hence, here is a complete guide on how to use affinity items in AFK Journey to increase the affinity of heroes.

Affinity Items in AFK Journey: What Are They?

As mentioned before, affinity items in AFK Journey are a type of resource. What is affinity? It is another one of your character's levels which upon increasing enhances their abilities. Not only that, but you also get exclusive rewards like diamonds and Invite Letters, which are essential for recruiting heroes. Each hero’s affinity can be increased by feeding or gifting them their favorite affinity items in AFK Journey. At present, there are 14 types of affinity items, with 7 of them being plants and herbs and the other 7 being more coveted items in AFK Journey. Hence, without further ado, here is a list of all the affinity items in AFK Journey: 

• Honeyberry: A type of berry that is grown in the mountain regions of Esperia. They are very sweet and far tastier than the usual wild berries.
  
• Hexaflower: This is a herb that is used as the common seasoning in the land of Esperia. It is sweet and can be eaten directly, but it is more commonly used after drying it out and grinding it into a fine powder.
  
• Glowfly Fruit: A type of berry that is found specifically in the Dark Forest. It has a bitter taste and looks translucent. However, after it is transported to the Lightbearer Empire, it has a unique and unexpected flavor.
  
• Wisteria Vine: A type of vine that grows on tall trees or stone walls like a typical creeper plant. It bears a berry fruit called the Butterfly Pea which can be peeled to reveal sweet fruit jelly that looks like gold sand.
  
• Radish: A type of vegetable that is wild and commonly found in the plains. It can be eaten raw and its flesh has a refreshing and spicy taste. In areas where harvest is poor and resources are lacking, radish is the main vegetable consumed by residents.
  
• Rainbow Flower: A type of plant that grows under the shade of trees or on shadowy slopes. It blooms when exposed to light, specifically after rain. According to legends, the flower is only said to bloom when a rainbow appears.
  
• Black Olive: A type of fruit with a strong taste.
  
• Starlight Cup: A teacup that has been adorned with an emblem of the stars. This teacup is the most common gift in the Lightbearer Empire.
  
• Fragrant Bouquet: A type of bouquet made with dried flowers. Each of the dried flower stems in this bouquet is carefully picked and they emit a tranquil fragrance that transports you back to the Dark Forest.
  
• Spectral Lantern: It is a type of lamp that is dim and greenish black in color. The candle flame in this lamp is faint, but it is enough to light the long nights in the land of the dead.
  
• Fang Dagger: A type of dagger that is handmade and fashioned entirely from beast fangs that are razor sharp. This dagger serves as evidence of the valor and strength of Maulers.
  
• Sacredite Pendant: A type of pendant that is made with a sacred crystal. This sacred crystal is imbued with pure energy and whoever wears or bears it will be sheltered by Dura above.
  
• Demon’s Gaze: A type of gemstone that resembles an iris, which is a chaotic entity born from the Rift. The gemstone is enshrouded within the Miasma.
  
• Origami Hamster: A type of origami made to look like a hamster, meticulously crafted by the hamster familiars.

Affinity Items in AFK Journey: How to Get Them

Now that you are familiar with all of the affinity items in AFK Journey, you have to ask, how do you get them? Unlike other resources, these affinity items only have three set sources or ways to get them. Each way is different from the other, giving you multiple opportunities to acquire the items. Hence, without further ado, here are the three ways to get affinity items in AFK Journey:

Open World Loot

The first and foremost way to get affinity items in AFK Journey is by exploring the world and looking for the items. You can only get the plants, herbs and fruits variety of items from the open world. Make sure to look for specific items in the specific regions that they grow in to make sure you’ll get them when you need them.

Quests

The second way to get affinity items in AFK Journey is by doing specific quests that award the items. Whenever you do a quest that requires you to look for specific items like Glowfly Fruit, Hexaflowers, Rainbow Flowers or Black Olive, you will keep them in your inventory. Thus, go back later and use them to increase your hero’s affinity. 

Friendship Store

The last but not the least way to get affinity items in AFK Journey is by purchasing them from the Friendship Store through the Emporium. You can access the Friendship Store by first locating the Mystical House, which is the first icon on the bottom of your screen and then entering the Emporium. 

Products in the Friendship Store can be purchased by using the currency known as Pal Coins. Pal Coins can be obtained by helping out friends in the game. Not only that, by sending and receiving “Favors” from friends you can earn Pal Coins. The Friendship Store holds items that are not found anywhere else like the Spectral Lantern and Demon’s Gaze.

How to Use Affinity Items in AFK Journey

Now that you know pretty much everything that there is to know about affinity items in AFK Journey, you need to know how to use them. To use these items on your heroes to increase their affinity, you need to know what their favorite item is to increase it fast. However, you can give or feed them other items as well. Now, without further ado, here is how to use affinity items in AFK Journey:

• Step 1: Go to the Resonating Hall, which is located at the bottom of your screen. It is the third icon on the bar with 4 icons.

• Step 2: Once you’re in the Resonating Hall, pick the hero you want to increase the affinity of and click on them.

• Step 3: Once the hero’s screen is active, locate the lucky clover icon on the top right corner of your screen and click on it.

• Step 4: Then, your character’s affinity screen will show up, where you can choose from the affinity items to feed or gift them.
