Changing Your Riot ID In League of Legends

It is important to note that your Riot ID and Username are different. You enter the username in the League of Legends and VALORANT client to log into your account. The Riot ID is the name displayed in-game and used to connect with your friends. There are several ways to change your Riot ID, but we will show you specifically for League of Legends and how you can change it using the in-game client.

1. Log into the League of Legends client.
2. Head over to the League of Legends shop – it is the icon with three stacks of coins on the navigation bar.
3. Press the Account button in the top right corner of the League of Legends shop.
4. The “Change Riot ID” option is the first to be displayed.
5. Click on it to redirect you to the Riot Account Management Page.
6. It will prompt you to log into your Riot account associated with your League of Legends account.
7. From there, Riot ID will be the first section visible at the top of the website.
8. Change the Game Name to whatever you desire.
9. Optionally, you can change the tagline to any set of four numbers you desire.
