League of Legends: FORG1VEN Steps Down from Schalke 04 LEC Roster

Konstantinos-Napoleon “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou rejoined the competitive League of Legends scene this year after serving in the Greek Army. Unfortunately, he has already decided to step down from the Schalke 04 roster.

There have been just three weeks of LEC action played and Schalke 04 sitting at the bottom of the table. With their dismal 0-6 record, FORG1VEN has decided to step aside.

Speaking on Twitter, FORG1VEN said: “In my 7+ LoL career I always played to win and be competitive,” FORGIVEN writes. He continues: “As of now at least, [the] current roster doesn't fit this principle. Schalke is unable/unwilling to make changes to fit that goal, so we mutually agreed that I step down until and if they are willing to do so.”

It’s not been a great start for Schalke 04. In fact, they've already swapped out jungler Erberk “Gilius” Demir for  Lukas “Lurox” Thoma. The team must now make a second change in two weeks with Nihat “Innaxe” Aliev joining the starting roster.

Schalke 04 Moving Forward

Schalke 04 has stated that: “We have decided to give Innaxe a shot, as it aligns with our vision to give Academy players time in LEC if they perform well. We’re still counting on FORG1VEN for Spring & Summer Split and would like to stress that Kostas has been very dedicated during his time with the team.“

Overall, the situation all looks a little odd to us. Schalke are making it seem like a team choice. Meanwhile, FORG1VEN certainly gives the impression that this move is due to other issues. The tweets from Schalke even seem like a reaction to FORG1VEN potentially posting his statement as shortly before the below tweet Schalke confirmed Inaxe would play in the Academy team against BIG this week.

Being 0-6 is never a great look. For Schalke, it makes it even harder that the Academy side is currently 8-0 in a very hotly contested Prime League Pro Division. Schalke goes into week four with matches against Rogue and G2 Esports. As a result, Inaxe and his team must pick themselves up fast if they want to avoid an embarrassing split.
