Game 1

Fnatic vs G2 Esports

While Fnatic denied Hans sama his Draven and Kalista, the ADC of G2 still had an aggressive marksman up his sleeve. However, Fnatic reacted accordingly with an Ashe pick that could be flexed to Support or ADC alike – but then flexed the Rumble to support which we saw in the LCS finals from Busio. Meanwhile, Caps locked in Aurelion Sol, being the sole scaling champion of his team.

Humanoid grabbed a solo First Blood on Caps who overextended with his Star Dragon. Soon after G2 got their revenge as Yike helped his midlaner out in taking down Humanoid. After some scrappy minutes, G2 solidified their early momentum with a great rotation the mid-jungle duo.

By the time the midlane rolled around, Aurelion Sol was 4/1/0, and G2 grew their lead through objectives. They managed to steadily as Fnatic lacked the power to fight back. Even when the black and orange squad was the one initiating, they could only get 2 kills while the Kings of Europe aced them.

Around 22 minutes, a fight broke out near the Dragon Pit – but it ended abruptly as G2 swept Fnatic. Their gold lead was almost 10k, which denied almost all options from Fnatic. They could only react, but couldn’t bear the onslaught of Caps and co. They ended the game before the 26-minute mark with a statement of a game.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: Fnatic 0 – 1 G2 Esports
  • Game Time: 25:38
  • Gold: 40k – 53.7k
  • Kills: 7 – 27
  • Turrets: 2 – 8
  • Dragons: 1 – 2
  • Barons: 0 – 1

Game 2

Fnatic vs G2 Esports

While the Rumble was not a huge problem for G2, they still elected to ban it in the 2nd draft so neither Jun nor Oscarinin can play him. Corki returned from the depths of the meta so Humanoid could match up against Caps’ Azir, while Oscarinin took a more forward approach in Olaf. A Jinx – Thresh botlane ensured that G2 could scale into the lategame and not get demolished by Zeri.

G2 was the one to get the First Blood as Oscarinin overextended and got punished by Yike and BB. Fnatic wasn’t lost though, and with the help of Razork, Oscar could strike back. The first teamfight was a 4 for 1 in favour of G2 which saw Yike getting to 4 kills and Hans sama getting 2 as well.

An extended teamfight kicked off the midgame. Noah and his teammates managed to hold out and fight back on the botlane, but they were too slow to clean up, which meant that G2 respawned and aced them instead. around 18 minutes, G2 already had a 4k gold lead and 3 Dragons, with Fnatic heading to the Lower Bracket at an alarming speed. While Fnatic was trying to find kills and resources for Noah, G2 set their sights on the Nexus. They ended the game just over 21 minutes after in started, showing that their Regular Season loss to their rivals was not something to be repeated.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: Fnatic 0 – 2 G2 Esports
  • Game Time: 21:04
  • Gold: 37.5k – 44.7k
  • Kills: 10 – 18
  • Turrets: 1 – 8
  • Dragons: 0 – 3
  • Barons: 0 – 0

Fnatic has been knocked down to the lower bracket, even though they were the 1st team in the Regular Season. While all is not lost, they will need to bounce back the hardest as people expected them to at least take a game off of G2.
