FlyQuest vs Team Liquid was the final game of day 9 of the Swiss Stage of Worlds, as NA fought against NA.
A guaranteed spot in the next round awaits NA this time around, though they'll be disappointed to see two sides drawn against each other. That said, it does mean NA will make it to a later stage than EU, which will be comfort to NA fans.
A repeat of the most recent LCS Championship Grand Final, FlyQuest vs Team Liquid is once again on the stage. FlyQuest took the win that day in a 3-1 series, so Team Liquid will be looking to get their revenge this time out.
Below is our live recap coverage of the game alongside the embed of the game so you can watch along if you prefer.

FlyQuest vs Team Liquid Recap
FlyQuest vs Team Liquid Game 1 Recap
A typically cagey start the Game 1 as both sides seemed keen to feel out the other. The game remained right well past the Baron-spawn period, with TL having a slight lead on Gold but not much else. FlyQuest took a lead and looked unlikely to let it go. While the series between these two is 1-1 for the year, FLY looked to be gaining an important first win on the third series.
FLY indeed maintained their lead and took down TL in Game 1. It was a long game, but TL has a lot to do if they want to unsettle FLY.
Quick Stats:
- Teams: FLY – TL
- First Blood: TL
- Game Time: 38:04
- Gold: 70.8k – 62.5k
- Kills: 18.4
- Turrets: 10-5
- Dragons: 2-3
- Barons: 1-0
Team Liquid vs FlyQuest Game 2 Recap
A big response was needed for Team Liquid if they wanted to remain in this series and at Worlds. Once again, TL picked up first blood, can they turn it into a major lead this time?
It's a better game for TL, as they help onto a 3k lead by the 15-minute mark. TL took their lead and made a big play into the mid lane as they charged down the mid current and it looked like TL gained the advantage in the game. From here, this should be TL's game to lose. A 50/50 on the Baron was won by TL, FLY tried but all it managed to do was hand the Game over to TL. FLY did their best to make a play but TL was ready to execute. TL continued to lead the game but did not pull the trigger on the win as the clock struck 30 minutes.
TL did eventually pull the trigger and claim a fairly easy victory. With that we head to a game 3, as the day sees all three series go the full three games.
Quick Stats:
- Teams: TL – FLY
- First Blood: TL
- Game Time: 32:31
- Gold: 66k – 53.4k
- Kills: 20 – 9
- Turrets: 9 – 2
- Dragons: 4-1
- Barons: 2-0
FlyQuest vs Team Liquid Game 3 Recap
It all came down to the third game, in a nine-series day. The final game of the FLY vs TL series and we got a Kled mid-lane. Well, the Kled mid lane is not working, and it already looks like a bad call just 5 minutes in. First blood went over to FLY as they gained a big early lead. It just never got better for TL, with 15 minutes on the clock, FLY had 6k on TL as they looked to slowly starve TL on the Rift.
FLY had a near 10k lead by 25 minutes, with TL just unable to make any sort of play stick. For TL, the best bet is going to be to make a pick, but with no vision on the map, that might be impossible. With Baron secured, and TL on the ropes FLY pushed into the top side and knocked down a second inhibitor. With a place at the QF on the line, however, FLY doesn't take any risks. With a reset, FLY takes their chance claiming a third inhibitor and forcing a fight on TL. While they did secure one kill early, FLY easily walked through the members of TL to secure their spot in Paris.

- Gold: 59.8k – 45.1k
