Final Fantasy 16: How to Defeat Control Node

Control Node is a boss in Final Fantasy 16 that players will have to defeat during the main quest “The Last King”, after defeating Barnabas. This is the first of three bosses that you will have to defeat in this mission. As usual, we advise you to follow a good strategy to be able to complete this battle without too much difficulty. In this article, we have decided to enclose in one place all the strategies and useful tips to follow to defeat Control Node.

Location, rewards, and abilities

As we already mentioned in the introduction of this article, Control Node is a boss that you will encounter in the main quest “The Last King” held in the Reverie area in the Neutral Region. As usual, if you are able to defeat this boss and thus progress through the game, you will be given rewards as thanks for your hard work. These rewards include 3000 XP, 80 AP, and 3000 Gil, as well as items such as Wyrrite and Fallen Iron.

However, as usual, we advise you not to underestimate this boss, as it could create some difficulties for you. For this reason, it is essential that you follow the right strategy that allows you to defeat the boss and take as little damage as possible. Furthermore, we remind you that, as with the other bosses of Final Fantasy 16, Control Node also has special abilities available which he can draw on during the battle. How to defeat Control Node

The first thing we advise you to pay attention to during the fight is when Control Node will rise into the sky surrounded by electricity. This means that he is ready to charge you at full speed and attack you for a huge amount of damage. The thing we advise you to do is to dodge this attack and then unleash all your combos and abilities against him, as he will need a short recovery time once he falls to the ground.

Another thing to keep in mind is his attack where he will target you with his laser attack horizontally. Again, as in most cases, we advise you to dodge this attack to avoid taking damage. Keep in mind that the laser will be present for the entire game arena, so it will be essential to be fully concentrated and anticipate the timing of this type of attack in order not to be hit.

After his health bar reaches halfway, Control Node will start charging his cells to perform a very powerful attack. The best thing to do in this case is to keep him attacking continuously until his gauge bar is empty. Also, be careful when moving after landing a couple of hits as Control Node will slam the ground, creating waves of electricity throughout the arena. In this phase, we advise you to use Limit Break to increase the damage you inflict but also to not risk dying in case you have little life due to the damage inflicted by the waves of electricity.

Control Node's ability

Control Node, differently from the majority of the bosses present in the game, has only one special ability to use in the fight. Multiple laser beams will be fired off in different directions during Short Circuit. As you participate in this electrifying challenge, be prepared to engage in a high-octane sprint, all while strategically maneuvering in a counterclockwise direction to outsmart the lethal laser barrage. Your nimble feet must dance swiftly, gracefully evading the perilous paths illuminated by the vibrant laser beams.

However, should fortune forsake you and you find yourself perilously close to a radiant beam, fear not, for quick thinking and agility can still save the day. With split-second timing and reflexes, you have the power to gracefully dodge through the formidable laser, defying its malevolent intent and rendering its damage null and void.
