F1 Manager 2023 is the second instalment made by Frontier Development.
F1 Manager is a single-player strategy game that gives you an insight into what it could be like to run your very own Formula 1 team. You get to run any of the 10 Formula 1 teams in hopes that you can lead them to success. Every decision you make will determine how your team performs and managing everything from sponsorships, staff, car development and driver lineups gives you the freedom to run a team exactly how you'd like.
F1 Manager 2023 New Features
Race Replay is a new game mode that brings real Formula 1 races to life. This game mode will bring all the current seasons races to life allowing you to change the results of that race depending on the decisions you chose. You will get an exact copy of the race conditions and driver positions. This game mode allows you to take control in pivotal moments from this year's races like taking Oscar Piastri to his first points finish at his home race in Australia. Race Replay will be constantly updated as the real-life Formula 1 season continues.
Pitstop Crew Training is new to F1 Manager 2023. In the previous game, there was no way to improve your pitstop crew. This meant that they would have a random stop time every time you sent a car in to change tyres or fix car damage. The sporting director role will help develop the pit crew throughout the season in to help them increase their speed and minimise errors that can make the difference between a slow and fast pitstop. Timing your pitstop to perfection will be vital in making your strategy work in hopes you can undercut cars and lose as little time as possible in the pitlane. Pitstop mistakes are also coming which will bring an extra dynamic to the race. This could make you lose lots of precious time but just like in real life mistakes happen and a decisive moment like a stuck tyre could affect the outcome of your race points.
Expanded Series Simulation is here which will allow you to track talent from the Formula 2 and Formula 3 series so you can track their progress in the lower leagues and develop as drivers earning their way into Formula 1. This will make it easier for you to make choices on who you may want in your team as a driver. Each game save will have different driver development and outcomes which means you will have to keep looking into their results to make sure they stand a chance in the big league.
Sprint Races are now included in the race weekend. Six race weekends will have these which will be something new to plan around. Having the two qualifying sessions one of which will be held on Friday that decides your position for the Sunday race and one on Saturday that will decide your sprint race position. This will also mean fewer practice sessions for your driver to improve the car's performance to get all the important data that can help perfect your race strategy.
Driver Confidence is a new feature which can affect race form. Each driver will have a different confidence level based on how comfortable they feel in the car and how they have used free practice to learn the track. If a driver isn't confident it can affect how they will feel in a race and can determine what overtakes they are willing to make.
Driver Development has been revised so drivers can improve in different areas depending on what you tell them to work on. Drivers will start losing their abilities as they get older to a realistic level which will change their driver rating. This will change how each driver may perform when you keep them on the team for many seasons. This is where bringing in younger drivers with less experience can pay off if you work with them closely and develop them into a champion.
Contracts have been changed meaning you can instantly give new staff members or drivers a contract in the middle of a season. In the previous game, you could only do this at the start of a new race season. Doing this will allow you to bring in new people to the team in hopes that they can do better than an underperforming driver. This also allows you to plan your finances ahead of a new season and will also give your driver time to try and get a seat in a different team.
