Dragons Dogma 2 First Update Adds ‘Restart Game” Option, Performance Improvements

Capcom has released the first ever Dragons Dogma 2 update, and the patch for the acclaimed RPG fixes some issues, but not all.

For the PlayStation 5, players now have an option to toggle motion blur on or off, and an option to set the maximum frame rate to 30 frames per second. There is also a toggle added that will allow PS5 players to turn off Ray Tracing, a feature that din’t exist upon release.

While Capcom didn’t detail the complete list of bug and glitch fixes with their newest  RPG, fans can expect a list of issues to be fixed. The patch notes only read “Miscellaneous bug fixes and text display issues”.

Finally, yes, there is an option to start a new game if you already have one, as it was frustrating for players to just load the one game progress that they started on upon launch. There is also a quality fix for NVIDIA video card players who use the company’s proprietary DLSS Super Resolution, while a fix for some models appearing low quality in some quests is another Steam PC exclusive change.

There are text and display issue fixes across all platforms, and while Capcom hasn’t detailed all of them, we believe it will make a difference in how text captions during in-fame dialogue will display.

The Art Of Metamorphism tones has been increased from 2 to 99, giving users more options in the character creator section to further modify and customize their protagonist.

Players need to note that crystals are necessary to change the appearance of their character in the game. Dragons Dogma 1 was massively successful, and the sequel to the 2015 title is also slated to sell multiple million copies.
