Call of Duty League Florida: Day 2 Recap

Toronto Ultra take the headlines as they advance to the Semi-Finals, while hosts Florida Mutineers are knocked out in the group stage.

Atlanta FaZe 3-1 London Royal Ravens

The first game of the day definitely produced some talking points. But not because of the gameplay. London’s Skrapz was AFK, awarding Atlanta FaZe a free map one victory. You can see more about that story here. After a weird map one, we went to SnD on Arklov Peak. This was dominant from London as they took the match 6-1 tieing the series 1-1. 9 kills each for both Dylan and Seany saw the Ravens force a game four. Next, Domination, Atlanta FaZe took this 155-145 in a close match. Finally, in game four FaZe dominated winning 250-130. The Lowest K/D for Atlanta FaZe was Simp with a 1.24, while Seany dropped a 0.49 in map four for The Ravens.

Toronto Ultra 3-1 Minnesota Rokkr

After surprising everyone yesterday, The Toronto Ultra had the chance to prove that it wasn't a fluke. They did just that as they convincingly took down The Minnesota Rokkr 3-1. Ultra took the first Hardpoint on Hackney Yard. A map which The Rokkr were 6-1 on, with The Ultra 1-5. Looking at the stats, this should've been an easy win for Minnesota. Toronto didnt care about the stats, they set up an excellent spawn trap, allowing Methodz to achieve a 1.59 overall K/D in the series. Minnesota managed to win the SnD 6-4, but that was as much success as they had in the whole series.

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 3-0 Paris Legion

OpTic had a day of 3-0 sweeps starting with the Paris Legion. The Hardpoint finished 250-231 in favour of OpTic, along with a 6-5 victory in SnD. These first two games were no wherre near dominant and both teams could have taken the victory if slight decisions went differently. However, the Domination was completely different. OpTic Gaming won 174-133 as they executed a perfect spawn trap while holding all three flags. Gaining a massive lead and taking the series 3-0. Paris Legion leave the Florida Home Series 0-2.

New York Subliners 3-0 Florida Mutineers

The Florida Mutineers see themselves knocked out of their own Home Series, after two 3-0 sweeps. Although this is surprising to see, and we may have expected more. They battled against two very strong teams, the second being NYSL. New York secured a strong lead in Hardpoint winning 250-194. The SnD was a different story, being 5-2 down many expected Florida to tie the series 1-1. But The Subliners completed an impossible comeback to win 6-5 and take a 2-0 lead in the series. Florida Mutineers were unable to regain after this loss, and were beaten 3-0. After a 174-143 loss in Domination.

A closely contested domination saw The Toronto Ultra go 2-1 up in the series after winning 157-149. However Ultra dominated the final Hardpoint winning 250-109, nearly 100 point clubbing Minnesota. Toronto find themselves in their first Semi-Finals, can they make the finals? We think they can.

OpTic Gaming Los Angeles 3-0 London Royal Ravens

The Group B Qualifier Match saw an OpTic and London rematch. London took the first series 3-2. However, OpTic enjoyed a day of 3-0 sweeps and now find themselves in the Semi-Finals. OpTic dominated this series. They came out of the Hardpoint victorious 250-199, SnD was 6-1 and Domination finished 174-154. After his poor performance yesterday, Kenny topped the charts with a 1.45 K/D. London were unable to regain from the Map One against FaZe as mentioned by Skrapz. The Ravens place 5/6th and OpTic reach the Semis.

New York Subliners 3-0 Minnesota Rokkr

Like OpTic, New York enjoyed a day of 3-0 sweeps too. Taking down The Minnesota Rokkr in the Group A Qualifier Match. This series couldn't have been any closer. The Ramazza Hardpoint game one ended 250-249 in favour of New York. An incredible 1v4 from Temp propelled New York to a 6-5 SnD victory.

The Domination saw New York win 159-150 and place themselves in the Semi-Finals, facing off against Atlanta FaZe. New kid MackMelts finished on a 1.24 overall K/D, the highest on his team. He continues to show his quality in the Call of Duty League.
