League of Legends: Amazing Leaves Schalke 04

Earlier today Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider announced he is leaving Schalke 04 Esports (“S04”).  Last year he played for the S04 roster that surged in the Summer Split and nearly made the World Championship. Though they didn't emerge victorious, their run was extremely successful. This year he moved over to managing the team, hoping to recreate similar success. He said he is interested in moving away from being a manager and finding another role on a team as a player.

Amazing has played in the LEC (formerly the EU LCS) since 2014. He debuted in the EU LCS on the Copenhagen Wolves before moving to Team SoloMid in North America. Amazing went to Worlds with TSM before moving to Origen for 2015 and 2016, where he found mixed success. He then moved to Fnatic Academy, then back onto the LCS stage with the Mysterious Monkeys in 2017 and early 2018.

Amazing and S04

It wasn't until last year that he made his name well known again. He joined S04 as their jungler in the Summer Split and was a major factor for S04's success, where they were placed third at the end of the regular season. They played against a dominant Fnatic roster in the playoffs where they were defeated. Unfortunately they also lost to G2 Esports in the Regional Qualifier, crushing their hopes at going to Worlds. Their run was still impressive, and Amazing played well to help his team get that far.

This year S04 ran into many difficulties. Their record at the end of the split was 9-9, which isn't bad, but the team wasn't able to overtake SK Gaming for a playoff spot. According to Amazing he got along very well with the team and shared many of the same values. But he has high aspirations, and believes that the best way to achieve his dreams is to move to another team and battle on the Rift himself.

Though he hasn't had as much success as other European players, Amazing is a great addition to many rosters. He is a very intelligent jungler and overall a great player. With some teams struggling this split, he shouldn't have too much difficulty finding another team to play with.
