Which character should you choose to embark on your adventure in Alone in the Dark? Emily or Edward? If you are undecided about which of the two choices to make or simply if you want to know if there are any differences between one choice and the other, you are in the right place. In this article, in fact, we will tell you what the differences are between one choice and the other.
Which Character Should You Choose in Alone in the Dark?
As soon as you have seen the introductory film of Alone in the Dark, which will help you understand where you are headed, the game will allow you to decide which of the two available characters you want to take part in the adventure with. You can decide whether to opt for Emily, or Jeremy's niece, the missing character that it will be our task to find; or you can decide to take on the role of Edward, the private investigator hired by Emily to find her uncle.
If choosing one character over another seems like a small thing to you, in reality, it isn't like that at all. In fact, by taking on the role of one character instead of the other, you will be able to witness different dialogues and cutscenes. This is because the tasks of the two characters within the game are actually different, so you will be able to witness the events of Alone in the Dark from two different perspectives.
Furthermore, as if that wasn't enough, although during the first run of the game, it is very likely that you will unlock the same ending whether you play with Emily or with Edward, in reality, if you do certain things in-game, you will be able to unlock different endings based on the character you have chosen to play the game with. In fact, if you find a certain set of collectibles while exploring the game environments, you could unlock an ending visible only to Emily or vice versa.
Finally, we can't help but mention the fact that there is a secret ending to Alone in the Dark. This will only be unlockable if you collect a certain type of collectible and if you decide to complete secondary objectives that are present in the game. Ultimately, therefore, our advice is to do at least two runs to witness the story of Alone in the Dark under two different lights and with two game perspectives of two different characters.
