Astra Militarum Commander
The Commander, formerly an Imperial Guard officer, led large forces in planetwide battles in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader. Their key skill, Regimental Tactics, boosts allies' damage by 20% against enemies adjacent to a friendly character and prevents friendly fire. This ability remains active until the Commander's next turn, offering strategic options like long-distance rescues or melee damage amplification. It proves especially valuable with a retinue featuring Warrior Archetype characters or utilizing area attacks and burst fire.

If the attack hits, the ally who finishes off that enemy gets an extra turn. Alternatively, if the Commissar targets an ally with this ability, the entire team gains an extra Action Point and three additional Movement on their next turn.

The Crime Lord can use the Sure-Fire Plan once per combat for every ten points of Intelligence. The next action they take has added effects:
- Attacks deal 10% more damage, plus an extra percentage point for every ten points of Perception.
- Offensive abilities not causing damage impose a 10% damage debuff on the target for one round, increasing by one percentage point for every ten points of Intelligence.

Sanctioned Psyker
Psykers wield powerful sorcery, but it comes with risks to their mind, life, and soul. Sanctioned Psykers are deemed stable enough for Imperial service, yet even the most skilled can cause unintended effects. At character creation in Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader, Psykers choose a Psychic Discipline, with the option to learn more later. They can focus on one Discipline to master it. Psykers have a Psy Rating from zero to four, determining their access to powers. Disciplines include:
- Biomancy: Enhances allies and weakens enemies by manipulating living matter.
- Divination: Predicts the future, boosting allies' success chances and hindering foes.
- Pyromancy: Channels Warp energy into intense heat and flames for unrivaled destructive power.
- Sanctic Power: Despite Imperial dogma, Sanctic Psykers pray for the Emperor's blessings, buffing allies and debuffing enemies.
- Telepathy: Specializes in damaging and debuffing by reading and infiltrating minds.
