As we said in our review, the combat system of Dragon's Dogma 2 is very valid and encourages the player to move forward in order to always find different ways to deal with the threats that are present on the road. But one thing to keep in mind is that boss fights are different from fights with other enemies.
The boss fights have been designed in such a way that they can give a real sense of satisfaction to the player. It won't be enough to simply continuously hit the boss to defeat him, you will have to take different variables into consideration, such as, for example, their attacks. Consequently, you will have to study their movesets well and behave accordingly. Don't think you can proceed simply by taking a super aggressive approach.
Even if you choose to belong to the Fighter class, aggression is not always the right thing to do. You will have to take the time to study the situation well, understand what the right time is to attack and, above all, make use of what you have. If you have Pawns on your team, don't underestimate them, and make sure you still help them in the battle. Some bosses can be harder to defeat than others, so having companions to use is definitely something you can use to your advantage.
Ultimately, the advice we give for other games is somewhat valid: have patience and think about the strategy you want to use to ensure that it is as effective as possible. Although it may seem like a “waste of time” at first, in reality, you will realize that this is not the case at all. You will waste much more time facing the Dragon's Dogma 2 bosses if you don't know what to do and you will start hitting blindly without a logical plan.
