Albion Online Map Guide
The first thing to know is that the Albion Online map is divided into two continents, five biomes, and a myriad of different cities. In this article, therefore, we will explain step by step everything you need to know about the map, so that you can have a greater understanding of everything.
Continents
There are two different continents in Albion Online: The Royal Continent and The Outlands. Let's see together what the differences and similarities of these two different continents are.
The Royal Continent
Once you're done with the tutorial that takes place on a small island that's not part of either of the two continents, you will go to the Royal Continent to begin your adventure. This continent is a big part of Albion and has five Starter Towns, where you will first go after the tutorial, and six Royal Cities. On the Royal Continent, there are blue, yellow, and red zones, but no black zones. This means that while PvP with full loot is possible, the always-dangerous black-zone PvP is only in the Outlands.
The Outlands
The Outlands is a big piece of land in the north of Albion. You can get there from the Royal Continent using five Realmgates, one in each of the five Royal Cities. Here's the thing about the Outlands: all the zones there are black zones. This means that if you win a fight, you get all the goodies. And guess what? In the Outlands, any player can attack any other player without worrying about losing their reputation.
Biomes
Having archived the aspect dedicated to the two continents that make up the Albion Online map, it is important to also talk about the biomes that are present in the game world. In Albion Online, in fact, there are 5 different biomes, each with its own characteristics and peculiarities. In addition to differences from an artistic point of view, the most important thing to know is that in each of the biomes you can find different resources:
- Steppe: hide, fiber, ore, fish
- Forest: wood, hide, stone, fish
- Swamp: fiber, wood, hide, fish
- Mountain: ore, stone, fiber, fish
- Highlands: wood, stone, ore, fish
Cities and Towns
Obviously, the continents and biomes are made up of different cities and towns that you can visit. In each of them, you can find various merchants who will allow you to purchase weapons, armor, potions, etc. Let's see together which cities are present in the Albion Online map.
The Royal Continent
- Starter Towns: Steppe Cross, Mountain Cross, Swamp Cross, Forest Cross, and Highlands Cross
- Royal Cities: Lymhurst (Forest), Bridgewatch (Steppe), Fort Sterling (Mountain), Martlock (Highlands), Thetford (Swamp), and Caerleon
The Outlands
- Rests: Merlyn's Rest, Morgana's Rest, and Arthur's Rest
Alternate Realms
Finally, in Albion Online, there are also Alternate Realms present on the game map. In fact, these are regions that exist outside the map and are unstable, so it is not easy to enter them because they follow different rules from the normal map. Let's see together what they are and their characteristics.
Roads of Avalon
The Roads of Avalon are like a big web of areas. You can get into them through portals that pop up randomly in the world. Once you're in, it's like being in a Black Zone where PvP rules are tough. And here's the twist: any portal you find could take you anywhere in Albion's world or deeper into the Roads. Nothing's permanent; everything's always changing.
The Mists
The Mists are like a magical place you can get into through portals that don't last long. These areas aren't like any specific place in Albion, and you can find all sorts of stuff there. Sometimes, you might even find a way to go to other parts of the world or to a place called the City in the Mists: Brecilien. In the Mists, there are creatures you won't find anywhere else, and if you beat them, they might drop some really rare and valuable stuff.
