Team WarsZ Win Toronto Ultra’s Coldish War Tournament

In the first Fireteam: Dirty Bomb tournament, the Warzone super squad of Team WarsZ took home the victory.

Last night the Toronto Ultra finished a week of Black Ops Cold War tournaments with the ‘Coldish War’. This was a tournament the first of its kind, being played on the Fireteam: Dirty Bomb game mode. This is a mode similar to Warzone, and uses some of the same mechanics, so it's no surprise that this squad of Warzone players took home the $12K first place prize.

Team WarsZ Road to Victory

Team WarsZ consisted of WarsZ himself, DooM Fifakill, Vapulear and GaGOD. These four are known for their Warzone ability, and they transitioned perfectly to Fireteam. The tournament began with a three hour pubstomp format, with teams 5 best games counting to their total score. Team WarsZ absolutely dominated coming first with 1368 points, an astonishing 240 more than second place Team Bartonoligist.

This saw them head into bracket play. This was slightly different, as they would play a total of three games and whoever had the higher overall score at the end would win. Being first seed, they were up against 4th seed Team CleanX. Team WarsZ took down Toronto Ultra’s own 488-443 to advance into the Grand Finals. In the Grand Finals they took on Team Izak, but yet again Team WarsZ were just too good. They took home the victory in the first ever Fireteam: Dirty Bomb tournament, and $12K to go with it.

That concludes a week full of Black Ops Cold War tournaments, however that action doesn't stop. The Minnesota Rokkr will be hosting another tournament on the 24th, and we’re sure we will see many more in the coming weeks.
