Prestige System To Return In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Fans can rejoice with the news that Prestige mode will be returning for Black Ops Cold War, here’s how the new system will work.

Yesterday Treyarch gave us a sneak peek into how the progression system will work this year in Black Ops Cold War. They mentioned that Prestige mode would be returning, but didn’t clarify how. However, their latest blog post goes deeper into the leveling system, so here's everything you need to know about the new Prestige mode in Black Ops Cold War.

Seasonal Prestige

The new progression system will be called “Seasonal Prestige”. Players will begin at Military Rank 1 on release day. They will then be able to rank up to Military Rank 55 before beginning Seasonal levels.

Starting from launch until Season One on December 10, players will be able to rank up three Prestiges. At the start of Season One, your level will reset and your progress will resume from the highest Prestige you achieved in the previous season. Each season will add four more Prestiges to be achieved over 200 levels. However, if you wish to progress further you can go all the way to level 1000 in each season, with a new Weapon Blueprint every 50 levels. There will be a total of 25+ Prestiges in Black Ops Cold War.

Prestige Rewards

If you reach level 200 in any season, you’ll receive the title of Prestige Master for that season. Your prestige level color will change to signify this and you’ll gain the ability to personalize your Prestige icon with legacy prestige icons from previous games. The legacy Prestige icon that you choose is up to you. You’ll receive a Prestige Key each time you prestige and this will allow you to enter the shop and purchase an Icon of your choice.

While this Prestige system seems extremely complicated, we are sure that it will be more clear once players hop in and start leveling up. With only a week to go until launch, fans know almost everything there is to know about Black Ops Cold War, and the hype can begin.
