Ahead of the beta on Thursday, Activision and Treyarch have released some new information for the players


The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Early Access begins on October 8 on PS4, with the Open Beta beginning on October 10th. Treyarch has said that players can expect to “Experience thrilling Multiplayer action from quintessential 6v6 Black Ops combat across new and returning modes, 12v12 Combined Arms and the all-new 40 player Fireteam Dirty Bomb mode. Use Field Upgrades and unleash Scorestreaks on enemies, perfect your loadout in the Gunsmith and more.”

Beta Content

During the beta, players will be able to experience the usual Black Ops gameplay which we all come to expect. Fast-paced, 6v6 modes will be available along with the larger 12v12 Combined Arms playlist and a brand new 40 player mode, Fireteam: Dirty Bomb. The beta will feature many different maps and weapons, while also allowing players to level up and progress through ranks, something which was not available in the alpha.

Beta Schedule

  • Weekend 1 —  PlayStation 4 Exclusive
    • Early Access Begins: October 8 at 10AM PT
    • Open Beta Begins: October 10
    • Weekend 1 Ends: October 12 at 10AM PT
  • Weekend 2 — Beta on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
    • Early Access for Xbox & PC (PS4 Open Beta) Begins: October 15 at 10AM PT
    • Xbox & PC Open Beta Begins: October 17
    • Open Beta Ends: October 19 at 10AM PT

 

PC Spec Requirements

Today Treyarch also announced the minimum and recommended specification requirements for the Black Ops Cold War beta. The beta will be available through the Blizzard Battle.net launcher.

Activision and Treyarch have revealed the minimum and recommended spec requirements for PC players for Black Ops Cold War Beta. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta will offer PC fans the first chance to go hands-on with the game ahead of it’s November 13 launch. In addition, the PC version of the game is developed by Beenox, in conjunction with Treyarch & Raven Software. The PC version is exclusive to Blizzard Battle.net.

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k or AMD equivalent

  • HDD: 45GB HD space
  • NETWORK: Broadband Internet connection

Players will get their first taste of the Black Ops Cold War beta this week on Thursday 8. With just over a month until the Cold War release, players will be providing the developers with vital feedback in order to improve the game and buff out any major issues going into the release.
